Another Way to buy itty bitty shares in a horse!

That’s interesting. I did not realize they did broodmares as well.

I am curious about how the long term financial aspect worked out for the owners of Rosi’s Alibi if anyone would like to break it down.

I’m still thinking of buying some shares, but I haven’t jumped in yet. Lol.

When they sold Miss Sakamoto (private broodmare sale) I did receive a final distribution based on the sales amount after all other outstanding expenses were deducted. It landed at just over $3 per share. They sent a final financial summary when they closed it all out.

Not exactly a fortune. But at least you ended up in the black, which is a rare treat for just about any horse related endeavor. Lol.

Thanks for the info!

They haven’t as of yet. However they have breeding shares in STG & plan on supporting him.

Gainesway announced STG stud fee $30k

That’s an interesting idea. They can start doing their own homebred livestock and selling shares in them.

I love that, I definitely want to see more of the breeding and sales side of things.

I did a quick internet search for her, since I was not familiar with her record. And the name did not ring a bell, so I did not understand why I was directed to a music video at first. Lol.

MRH picked up another broodmare today

https://catalog.keeneland.com/november-breeding/catalog/hip/0545/?103

Guinevere will sell tomorrow, hip 1008
They’ve set a reserve on her, but haven’t said what it is.
Her dam sold for $65k.
Her weaning 1/2 sister $40k. Both as part of a dispersal sale (so no reserves).

She sold to RT Racing (one of the partners) for $90k.
Which is more than I thought she’d bring.

MRH picked up 2 more broodmares today.
Haven’t really looked at them/there stats yet.

If you are interested in the breeding side (as well as racing), check out Wasabi Venture Stables. While they have racing horses, their primary focus is breeding, then racing. They don’t have the same quality of horses as MRH, but you’re also buying more than a tiny micro share. The smallest amount you can buy is .25% and it increases in .25% increments up to 5%. They are a much smaller player in the racing industry, but I think they’re moving in the right direction. There are other cross-over owners between MRH and WVS (and Commonwealth).

Also, I just got an email from Commonwealth last week describing their new broodmare mircro share program.

While Edge, WV & Cmwlth are all great opportunities to get involved, just be sure to read all the fine print for each offering.
Unlike MRH, which is a pay once for lifetime of the series, some of their offerings will have quarterly payments due.

Classic Cut & Fireball Birdie both won their races yesterday at Remington.

Elite Heat makes her debut on Saturday.
Sweet Voyage also runs on Saturday.

WVS definitely has quarterly payments with their Yearling program (4 payments) and Weanling program (6 payments). Currently there are no additional payments for Racing or Foal program. Personally I am not a fan of Commonwealth and will not be buying any additional horses with them.

I absolutely love MRH and it’s scary how big my stable is getting  Their events are wonderful. I did the Saratoga experience this summer and it was absolutely amazing! During the backside tour, we got to hang out with STG at his stall and get tons of pics.
