Another Way to buy itty bitty shares in a horse!

Caldera will be making his bid for more KD points on Saturday in the LA Derby.
A 1st or 2nd placing would give him enough points to get in.
A 3rd would have him right on the bubble.

With Luka’s already having a horse in the KD with American Promise, not sure he’d push Caldera as hard as he may have otherwise.

Fingers crossed he gets a fair & clean trip, & we can see what he does.

For anyone who bought the broodmare package, do you know if there is an owner’s FB page?

Yes. It’s under Seize The Grey Broodmare Band.
Easiest way to find all the groups is go to the main MRH PAGE (not the group), click on the about tab & then scroll down. All groups are listed there

Thanks!

MRH horses racing this weekend

With that breeding, I would name her “Pensieve.”

The deal is similar to the STG deal they did.

He looked uncomfortable throughout the race:

Hope he recovers, but if not, hope he has a good second career.

While he’ll obviously get a full & thorough work up once stateside, as of this morning he was fine & jogged sound.

Elite Heat held on for a 2nd in her first 2 turn race, at TAM.

Reputation wins easily in the 6th at Gulfstream.
Can’t wait to see how she progresses as the summer rolls on.

Seismic Beauty walks the field to win by 10 lengths in the 6th at SA.
The added distance was a huge benefit.

Chasing Time fourth in a field of five at Lone Star. I wish he could have a second career, as I think the next step in his racing career will be a claiming race.

Caldera was 2nd in a race he easily should have won. His mental immaturity is a big handicap.

Improbable Luck had zero luck at all & faded to the back of the pack.
Thinking if he doesn’t show something next time out (will be either on the turf and/or with a bit more ground) he won’t be around for long.

Moonlight Courage broke well & hung with the lead group for a bit, then spit the bit & backed up.
She seemed uncomfortable once she was surrounded by horses.
It’s just so hard to replicate running in the middle of a pack of horses during morning training.
Hopefully she gained a bit of fitness & experience out of the race.

Duke of Love was eased, displaced his palate, should be ok.

Chasing Time was up against from the start. He’s NOT A SPRINTER & had little chance to begin with.
Races (other than claiming) are hard to come by that has conditions he qualifies for, so I get why they entered him, still sucks @$$.
Wish they’d try turf again or a one turn mile. Even if it’s a higher claiming race. Doubtful anyone would risk picking him up for a $60k or up tag.

Upcoming races…
Intellectual running on the 23rd
Miss American Pie on the 24th
Givememythememusic the 25th
Catalyst the 26th

I would imagine that Chasing Time is relatively unimportant in the Asmussen string, especially at age six. (I’m surprised that he’s not showing stud-like behavior on the track and in the barn–or maybe he is and we just don’t know about it). I think he’d do better with a less important trainer with a smaller string who can give him more individual attention. People have mentioned the eastern circuit, maybe that might suit him. Perhaps somebody like Graham Motion or Michael Matz or a similar trainer might be willing to take him on. OR…maybe it’s time for him to move onto another phase of his life.

Or maybe he is just not fast enough and/or lacks that do or die, dig in drive by nature. Maybe he once had it but has grown out of it or tired of it as many horses do as they age. Don’t think changing trainers is going to change that. IMO he may be done and needs to be in a different career…but he is not my horse.

Why do you think another trainer based in the northeast would help? Maybe he’s not the type horse they prefer to work with anyway and what do you think is lacking with his management where he is?

If he is still whole, maybe they could try fixing that but it is up to the ownership managing partners.

I really enjoy these videos & when they give their opinion on the race & break it down.
