Any APHA, AQHA, or ApHC breeders on COTH?

I saw that. But since she’s a dark bay, how can she carry the dilute gene? Wouldn’t she have to be a paly or buckskin?

See, told you I wasn’t very good with all the dilute and colored stuff.

She has produced two paly sabinos, a buckskin overo and a paly overo (obviously bred to a double dilute).

Even if I don’t get color, I think Cyriz will cross really well with her.[/QUOTE]

She was bred to a creme stallion and the resulting foals got their dilute gene from him.

Yes, but the blurp the breeder posted on pedigreequery said she carries the dilute gene. Maybe I’m just reading it wrong.

In any event, we’ll see what we get in about 15 months!

We are lucky enough to breed Coloured sports horses.mainly spottys, but have had some great paint / pintos too.

I think they meant frames, sabino and rabicano for her 3 “color” genes. As a bay…no she is not dilute.

Since Nancy at Colorworld stood Racey/is the breeder/did the DNA testing she could probably best answer any DNA questions for sure.

I think its referring specifically to the foal, rather than the mare.

I started out breeding AQHA HUS/Hunters about 6 years ago. In May 2010 I purchased a AQHA/APHA 16.2 Hand Grey Overo Stallion named Painted Detail. He is sired by AQHA World and Congress Champion Last Detail out of Frenchie Gail (TB), AQHA Res World Champion Producer. He has his ROM in Hunter Under Saddle with points also in Halter and Western Pleasure and he was a 2010 AQHA World Show Qualifier in HUS. This stallion is so good minded and quiet, most people wouldnt even know he is a stallion amd he seems to pass this on to his foals. He is off to a late start as a sire (he is 12) and he has a very limited foal crop but we are expecting 10 foals this spring. I dont know much about breeding for APHA but I am trying to learn quickly. I would love to see some paint mares, warmblood hunters bred to him.

Just know your market when choosing mares or marketing foals because the APHA hunter market is not at all the same thing as the open hunter market. Your bigger moving open hunter type does not fare well in the APHA shows.

We finally have some pretty cool colored & patterened JC foals!

Our site is www.reedhillfarm.net

but bunches of photos really show casing what we have and are still expecting this year are on FACEBOOK under: Carolyn Reed.

Here are a few exciting foals we have had:
