Any nice TB sport horse stallions standing in Ontario (Canada) this year?

I have searched old threads but looking for any new update’s. Specifically aiming for hunter/jumper market to be bred to a heavier type Holsteiner/TB mare.

Canadian Sport Horse approved would be icing on the cake for me  or eligible for CSHA approval. Thanks…

There are two on the CSHA site:

Brian B

Tango Event

Huh. Just cruising through the Bloodhorse stallion register, this guy stood out. Wonder if he’s still standing. Any Canada peeps know about him?

^^^ You aren’t kidding - GREAT bloodlines. Really nice find, I’d love to see a picture of him.

Thanks Simkie…I am aware of those two boys. Just looking at perhaps some others as well…

I will ship to Canada and I’m pretty sure that Cyriz would be eligible for approval based on all his other approvals. Of course, shipping fresh to Canada is a bit expensive and a hassle for all parties, but doable!

Judy Wardrope is part owner of a stallion named Hero’s Tribute (same sire as Sea Accounts) who is standing in Canada, but I’m not sure where.

RATHER WELL is Canadian approved. By Raj Kapoor (Raja Baba) x Copy the Roses by Avies Copy. He is in Quebec. Evented through advanced. http://www.pedigreequery.com/rather+well

TANGO EVENT is also Canadian approved. By a son of AP indy who was out of a Mr P mare. Dam is by Dance Floor (Star De Naskra) out of a Marshua’s Dancer mare. He is homozygous black and is well revered for his jumping ability. Lovely looking stallion too. Also in Quebec

What’s happened to Yavari and Yellow Creek?

^^^ Both deceased unfortunately …

Yellow Creek has a now rising 4 year old colt that is going for his CSHA stallion approvals this summer. I already have another mare in mind for him

Thanks again everyone for the suggestions. After the nightmare that FED Ex put me through last year trying to get fresh semen here on time from across Canada I am not terribly hopeful on going that route from the USA. But always love to stallion shop anyway…

If we’re going outside of ON, there’s also Lanciano in Alberta. He’s owned by a vet who will ship semen.

I have some info and pics on Blamelessissmoking, will post here if I get the okay to share

Thanks True Colours. Sorry to learn that.

Thanks Simkie. Would love to see more information about him.

Lanciano is really interesting on paper too…

Don’s Folly. All I can tell you is he cleans up at the Royal, looks and moves like a dream, and is a half-brother to my favourite jumper mare.

Don’s Folly is gorgeous, and he’s from the HTR sireline. The rest of his pedigree isn’t shabby, either. He’s got one only one line to No.D through a 3/4 brother to Nijinski II, who was also a full brother to The Minstrel. And he has no Mr. P.

His butt is magnificent.

Hero’s Tribute is in Alberta just north of Calgary.

Couple corrections here:

Tango Event is EE AA which makes him homozygous black and homozygous bay. So he will throw a dominant A (bay) gene every time. The owner is miss marketing him on her facebook page.

Second, as much as this horse is approved the owner is putting in NO effort to cultivate a sport career for him. From my knowledge he has only participated in a handful of schooling shows at a very basic level, with minimal results. She now has him listed all over Kijiji for free lease to a show home. This is a classic example of someone who took a horse off the track and decided to try and start breeding it.

Furthermore, the babies I have seen by him are small and crooked.

All of this will effect the marketability of his babies in the future.

As a side note, Rather Well is lovely, with a good record.

Blazing Colours Farm has a number of well put together thoroughbreds.

Alrighty, here are some pics of Blamelessissmoking.

Apparently he’s quite the character and goes by “Clown.” He’s about 16.1, with limited showing due to an injury as a younger horse. Pics are from when he was shown at the Royal in 2015. Two foals, one TB and one draft cross, both have shown at Trillium. Stands in Carlisle, Ontario.

I can pass on contact details via PM if anyone would like more info. Looks like a neat horse, and a very good mover.

Honour Devil is another beautiful sport type TB stallion. He stands in Manitoba.

Both Honour Devil and Hero’s Tribute are approved for breeding with the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association. They are both entered in the CWHBA Stallion Service Auction starting Feb 18th. It gives you a chance at a reduced price fee, and the foals are eligible for entry in their Foal Futurity Program.
