Britney and JulieM ARE basically one in the same
I am generally a “lurker” I enjoy reading and learning information but don’t have much to say… after reading this thread for a few days, I have a little information that I know will interest you all!
The adds by JulieM are without a doubt the same horses Britney is selling. Britney’s mothers real name is Julie Beth McKee-Sturz. One of the horses listed recently is a horse B bought as a yearling who I have heard her say repeatedly that she would NEVER sell. Sweet little mare that I would LOVE to have, but NOT from her!
I think I saw Mandy’s pony and would like to tell her more but she hasn’t replied to my PM yet.
I have known the Sturtz family for many years. Pre-Britney even. Her parents come off as very nice people. So does B for that matter. Unfortunately, anyone who knows them knows that you do not loan them a dollar and you take anything they tell you with a grain of salt!
I did make the mistake of purchasing a horse from them once, knowing I was paying too much but wanting the horse enough that I did it anyway. It ended sadly. I won’t go into details here, if you would like to know more you are welcome to pm me. I do know of two other folks here locally who have had trouble with her mis-representing horses as well. One bought a 10 year old warm blood mare who turned out to be a 20 year old TB with a tattoo! The other horse had a broken shoulder once they got it home and had it vet checked and B did not want to take the horse back, give their money back or give the girls pony back that she had traded as part of the deal. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! She lies so much that she can not even always keep her story straight.
There was one occasion where I called her about a horse from the paper,reminder - she has known me forever, and as I said, I have family very near her. She told me how fabulous he was and gave me a price. My farrier came that night and he had called her that day about the exact same horse, she offered it to him for $500 less and she didn’t know who he was!!! Nice. I could go on and on but I won’t. Just BE CAREFUL.
I do feel sorry for the girl who is sticking up for B. She doesn’t know any better. I can tell you that B has NEVER operated a program for inner city children, or autistic children. She has let children come and ride her horses who may not have otherwise been able to - but who hasn’t! She did have a traumatic miscarriage that her Grandmother, Mother and Britney tell everyone about after 5 minutes of knowing you. Her Grandmother tells the story in the grocery store, at the fair, anywhere that someone will listen. It’s sad really, I have never seen people so in need of attention!!! I did feel sorry for B’s loss. She really needs to grow up (in so many ways) and get married before trying to start a family.
Britney is basically, telling people she will take their horses who have SOME issue and give them a forever home and turning around selling them as quickly as possible for as much as she can possibly get for them! She is not BUYING most any of the horses she is selling, they are being GIVEN to her. We all know that no one gives away a perfect horse, and yet, all of the horses she sell are perfect with amazing backgrounds and yet you are NEVER allowed to try to contact the previous owner, even when my horse was at risk and I needed to find a medical history - I was not allowed to have the previous owners contact info!
Just be careful and maybe if enough people learn about her mis-dealings, no one will buy from her and she will have to stop!:no:
