Anyone buy? sell? adopt? from Brit Le'Brand Farm Warsaw Ohio?

Yep I agree with trailqueen. You tried that’s all that matters.

No news??? Guess that’s a good thing…she has a lot of horses for sale right now. Most of them don’t look too bad.

Every month or so I scan the newer posts and this thing keeps popping up. I googled her one time and read some defences that she wrote about herself and she sounded almost illiterate. From skimming through the multitude of complaints about he,r I cannot fathom how she is still operating!

Somehow she has posted quite a few ads on Equine.com… I thought she was banned from there? http://www.equine.com/horses-for-sale/horse-ad-996923.html

don’t think she can post on dreamhorse. didn’t know about equine.com. There were several listed on equinenow.com.

A sad day…

Well Annie went back to Britney Thursday. It was a rough day, but it had to be done. Lots of horses on her farm but was unable to see in the barn. No ponies were seen. If you would like farther details please pm. Thanks

Barrelchick

Sorry to hear about Annie. It’s always hard when you have to give up such a special animal. I know how hard it was for us when we had to make the decision to sell our horses. Too many obligations, not enough money.

barrellchick00–I’m sorry for your heart hurt…

trailqueen and barrelchick

trailqueen, your pm is still not working, can you re-check?

barrelchick, I am soooo sorry, (((big hugs))) being sent your way and Annie’s way…

dogontired

I’ve “fixed” it three times now and it still won’t work! I’ll send them a message…Thanks!

well so far nothing from her in response to my e-mail…big surprise ppffttt yeah[/QUOTE]

i would go show up at her place or have a friend go there for your pertending to look at horses. then ask her if she ever knew of your pony and horses and what mightve happened to them. nothing like speaking face to face; then she cant back down

apparently this farm has sold a foal/mare to britney. maybe someone should notify them of where their horses might end up…

apparently you don’t remember the movie “Deliverance”

not a safe idea to just show up at B’s parent’s farm, there’s plenty of fire-power at that home and it is pretty isolated, if you get my drift.

Best idea - call Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office and ask for escort…

what the…??

selling horses on payment plan w/ financing charges?? Really?? Sounds like a business for profit. Isnt that reportable income? Maybe I just don’t understand the horse “rescue” business, but I’m pretty sure if it were me, the IRS would be knocking on my door…

Payment plan

I don’t understand the charges and fees. I made payments on Annie but there was only a late charge if I didn’t pay it by a certain date. However, you maybe right trailqueen…I wonder…

She even tries to lease her dogs and dictate what kind of yard the people have! To top it off, they have to be a perfect, loving family .

That’s not any different from most animal rescue groups. Heck, every one I know is anal retentive about every little thing they can nitpick about when it comes to the home environment.

I’ve heard in puppy contracts about the spay and neuter clause but never the fenced yard…nice. She never stops amazing me. Well since Annie hasn’t been posted yet, I’m assuming she decided to breed her. Sigh…

puppies and LexInVA

Did B mention that on a past occasion, she arranged with her neighbor to use his male aussie for the stud-muffin purposes, with the deal that the neighbor got to keep 2 from the litter? B then tells the neighbor that all of the puppies died at birth. Lo and behold, around 10 weeks later, an ad identical to the one above (but for a total of 6 puppies) appeared in the paper. Needless to say, neighbor was “not happy” but did get his 2 pick of the litters. Oh yeah, she also “voluntarily” vaccinates her neighbor’s ponies (in the middle of the night) because she doesn’t (in her humble opinion) feel that the neighbors take “good care” of their ponies. Ironic, isn’t it?

LexInVA, your note indicates you probably have not read the rest of this thread. The nasty sagas of Britney Sturtz are 30+ pages and 2 years old for a reason.

As per your note, yes, most normal, professionally run rescue groups have unusual conditions in their contracts. However, per the lines in B’s ad, Britney is part of the package, and believe me, she will show up for unexpected visits for the rest of the dogs’ lives at your home, and if, God forbid, something happens and one or both dogs die, she will sue you in court. Read the earlier posts in the first 10 pages of this thread where she leased out a horse, the horse colic’d and died, and B sued the lessee, the owner of the stable AND the vet, demanding that the body of the horse be dug up and returned to her family farm. When the defendants served her with a discovery request asking that she produce proof that she owned the horse and supporting her allegations of the value of the horse, she -poof- dismissed her petition so the defendants had no chance to even try and collect costs from her.

One of these days, she’s going to carry on her immediate family’s tradition of spending time in jail. Maybe they’ll let her stay in the cell next to her brother…

Hi dogontired. Good to hear from ya!
