Anyone buy? sell? adopt? from Brit Le'Brand Farm Warsaw Ohio?

Hi Barrelchick, hope you’re doing well!

Poor Nick

Nov 20, 2008 - Nick is a 9 yr old 17.1 grey TB gelding looking for outstanding rider … ad placed by rocnchoclatdiesel of Coshocton, OH

Flash forward: current (as of today) equine.com ad placed by equinejumper22 of Coshocton, OH:

"This outstanding gelding has a very extensive background in dressage, H/J and low level eventing. Just looking for someone to enjoy and show. No badhabits or vices. Currently unfit due to owner’s time conflicts and college, so he would need time under saddle before asking to jump anything big. Can jump over 3 foot when in shape. … This outstanding gelding can be purchased for $9500 to a wonder but loving situation. Email for more information or with questions. Will sell on payment plan with financing charge. Would consider trade for same value a 3-4 horse gooseneck horse trailer in excellent condition. Owner is downsizing on show horses. Very unique opportunity for someone to get him cheap. Valued at over $25,000.00. New owner responsible for coggins, health certificate, vet fees and shipping fees. "

Let me see…horse for sale for over 16 months, “can jump over 3 foot when in shape”. Can’t ride him if you go for a visit, can’t see B ride him or jump him, so how you gonna verify that he is “valued at over $25,000.00”? In today’s economy?

“Will sell on payment plan with financing charge.” Is that in addition to the interest on the “payment plan”?

Oh, and apparently we’re no longer looking for the “perfect loving family”, now we’re just looking for a “wonder but loving situation”. Hmmm. Owner must be pretty busy at college…

Poor Nick…maybe it’s like “Lost” and he’s living in an alternate universe…poor guy.

Downsizing on show horses, interesting…

dogontired

If you show up to look at a horse she doesn’t let you ride them? She doesn’t at least ride them so you can see what they do?

Downsizing on show horses, interesting…[/QUOTE]

Don’t you have to be actually showing them to downsize on “show horses”?

FYI

I guess Sugarcreek no longer has horse auctions b/c of PETA. They had a problem with selling horses for dog food. Could be why she has had the same horses, no new ones for awhile now.

!

Love the “HUGE UPDATE” on Stardust…“WOW!”

Yeah I saw that too. I’m still waiting to see Annie on there. I figure she bred her to that Gucci Only. That was not gonna fix her issues and we don’t need anymore babies running around. There are far too many horses that need good homes for that. Oh well…:sigh:

I get bored and need a good laugh every once in awhile so I check out her ads. When I compare her horses to others, the dollar amounts don’t make any sense. Poor Nick is back up to $10,500. If she couldn’t find a good home for him for $9500, why did his price increase? I mean, if she truly wants to downsize, isn’t she going about it all the wrong way? Maybe I’m wrong, but wasn’t he was once valued at 22k and now she says he’s valued at 25k?

Yeah I agree that’s not how I would downsize. I would not breed and I would lower my asking prices. I understand everyone has to have a bottom price but sometimes the horse having a better home is more important. At least that’s how I feel.

downsizing (e.g. flat out lying)

Trailqueen, the $1000 bump in Nick’s price throws it into another search category for victims/I mean good faith buyers who are searching for above and/or below $10k.

RE: downsizing, have to agree that this is the wrong way to do it. Raising the existing herd’s prices AND acquiring new horses on a regular basis is NOT downsizing, it’s expanding the pool of “perfect loving homes” that you can haunt for the rest of that poor horse’s life.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I am trying to remind innocent ppl out there just how many times she has said she is “downsizing” and yet is doing the exact opposite… How her horses change names/values frequently, depending on what will benefit Britney…how you have to be very careful about what you want to believe and what the truth is…

riveting article

Found the following on another thread about Crossed Sabers, I thought it would be of interest to the folks on this thread as well:

Here’s a quote from the article:

"People with antisocial personality disorder use charisma, manipulation, intimidation, sex and even violence to control others and to satisfy their own needs. Lacking in conscience and empathy, they take what they want and do as they please. They violate social norms and expectations when necessary without guilt or remorse. They often commit crimes, fail to hold jobs and otherwise fail to conform.

Self-assured, cool under pressure and socially adept, antisocials may appear larger than life. This image of forcefulness and confidence combined with their charm allows them the ability to tell the most bold-faced lies in a manner that will have otherwise rational people believing them. The ultimate spin doctors, they can twist anything in a way that will best suit their ends.

People with antisocial personality disorder usually play on the sympathies of others. When people’s empathic responses are aroused, they are less inclined to examine an individual’s behaviour. Instead they will attribute bad behaviour to an abusive childhood or other trauma. This provokes the sort of nurturing response that enables the antisocial person to manipulate and extract what she wants from others.

When they are trying to manipulate others, antisocials often engage in dramatic, short-lived emotional displays designed to provoke sympathy or guilt. They can even cause otherwise rational people to believe that they must be crazy for questioning their motives. Antisocial people say whatever will get people to give them what they want. Many work hard to give the impression that all of their problems stem from cruel treatment at the hands of others, and that they could change for the better if only some kindly soul would take an interest in them and support them."

Does this look familiar, Trailqueen and Barrelchick?

Couldn’t have found a better one…

I would have to say that is a perfect definition!! Thanks for sharing. It really makes me feel a little better about myself.

Dogontired, that’s what I’ve been looking for to seal the suspicion (no, certainty) that a certain person in the life of my family is just that. She has ruined lives and continues to wreak havoc on the lives of good people, people she is hell-bent on destroying. I haven’t encountered anyone like her. It’s more than unsettling. I recognized her mental health issues pretty early on but she has a p**** whipped husband and family who choose to deflect/ignore/apologize for her brutality. It’s because she is so freaking’ MEAN!

I don’t know how people like her and “Brit” sleep at night. But that’s a rhetorical statement for reasons that are explained in your post.

Mean people suck.

I so agree!!!

Looking for my horses for years

Hi everyone, I just came across this site. I too have dealt with this Britanny. My father gave away two of my horses a few years back to Britany. She claimed that she was using them in her theraputic riding program which is a bunch of crap. She then said that she sent my horses down south because they couldn’t take the cold weather in Ohio. My horse are from PA!!! They have seen cold wetaher!!! Please if anyone knows of or has seen a smaller bay jockey club registered thoroughbred with a small star and a front and hind sock and a bigger 16hh black and white paint with a roman nose please contact me. The tbred would be in mid to late 20 now and the paint may be in late teen early 20s. I have been so upset for years and knew this whole thing has been a scam. Thank you.

Have you tried emailing her regarding your horses? She probably can’t give you much info because of “confidentiality” issues. She claims you can request pics via email and even says there is a video of a horse she is trying to sell. Maybe you could have someone request info for you. She’s not honest so I don’t see reason for you to be. You have to play the game the same way she does, not how you would normally do business. I’m certain you have read that she is advertising on www.equinenow.com. You can search by typing in the “43844” zip and search within “25 miles.” Her posts come up under a Coshocton location. Horsetopia.com is another with more pics of some of her current horses. Good luck on your search.

You absolutely nailed it! I don’t know the circumstances behind this, but she once hit a doberman (her “pet”) in the face with a shovel hard enough that she broke its teeth. This dog ended up back at the animal shelter. How sad…
