Gosh, don’t want to start the fire again, but I contact “Julie M” in Wooster, OH off an ad on Dreamhorse for an imported Hanoverian mare for lease. “Owner” sent photos of nice chestnut mare with lease terms of $200 month negotiable. I replied I was really looking for a free lease (mare is 20 years old after all!). Then things start to get strange - seller wants me to pay $100 a month lease fee and tells me the mare’s value is $20,000 and the option is mine to get an insurance policy on her or for me to be responsible for her value. Seller states that this is very, very, cheap for a mare of this quality…Um, thanks, but no thanks! BTW, she never signs her name in any of our correspondence and the tags on the photos are Britney’s horses and Brit Le’ Brand Farms…How sad for these horses.

After looking at your website, I was wondering if she asked all about YOU before she quoted the $20,000 price for that mare. You obviously run a respectable business (your horses are beautiful!) and I’m wondering if that’s the reason the price was so high. She can sniff out money, whether it’s in person or through cyberspace. Wonder why she doesn’t have a website to showcase her $20,000 horses:confused:?
Don’t know if this was posted before but this was interesting:
http://www.dreamhorse.com/show_horse.php?form_horse_id=1292929
I posted earlier about my friend that “bought” a horse from B and received FRAUD papers, so she (my Friend) could not get the mare transfered into her name. Now B wants to do a “joint” ownership. None of that was in the original contract. Also APHA (American Paint Horse Ass.) Is allowing B to do this.
What I don’t understand is 1) B sells a horse and pass’s on fraud papers. 2) Swears those are the papers APHA sent you originally. 3) Then changes her story and sends a lost paper form too get a duplicate. 4) Then says that the signature on the transfer was forged, sends APHA a new transfer for joint ownership.
AND the APHA does nothing about it. AND let’s this happen.
Checking in
Hey Jumper Breeder!
Sorry you had a run in with the Britney kind but I am glad that you didnt fall for her scam…
I am not shocked that Britney would steal horses… I would be suprised if any of the horses she sells, adopts or whatever she wants to call it, are hers legally. She cant provide proof for anything. She is good at telling you whatever you want to hear though…
Quite the character… I am glad to just be done with her… no contact with her anymore
AHHHH!!!
Swampskeeter thats TERRIBLE… when will it stop!!!
Wow!
That ad on dreamhorse is eye opening! That is my thought as to how she possibly obtain’s some of these horses and why she requires the updates. [edit] I would love to know where the grey gelding I have is from. Remember the office in Coschoton is gathering info. I hope the PA lady connects with them.
Has anyone sent that woman a like to this thread? She might be able to help, and would no doubt like to know she isn’t in the fight alone.

Does your friend have the fraud papers, all correspondence, etc.? She should contact others in this thread who are pursuing legal action. Has she thought about returning the horse to B or is that not an option? B could keep the horse AND stick the papers “where the sun don’t shine”
Working on it
Hey Tweeter!
I have called the lady about her 3 horses. We are playing phone tag but I am trying to get some more information on her situation and some pictures on her horses so maybe we can locate them. Someone that knows of Britney has these horses. That you can be sure of. Britney claimed to have been a therapeutic riding facility and was going to give these horses a lifelong home… [edit]
Good for you Canopach! This whole thing with her and Tammie (Lilhighjumper) just make me sick. And you wonder how many others are out there, just like them.
These people must be deranged, I can’t imagine any normal sane person doing what they do. I just can’t understand it.
They need to be under the bus, and the bus blown up.
I bought a horse from Brit Le’Brand Farm
What a disaster this was!! I am so used to dealing with honest people, I never even saw this coming. I’m a much more experienced horsewoman than I’ve let to show by me getting involved in this situation. Live and learn I guess. I bought a QH mare from her back in the late winter of 2005. I drove down to Warsaw, about a 6 hour drive with just my truck to see this horse, for $7,000. She was good and seemed to be what I was looking for. Britney seriously hurried me to come back down again with my trailer, and overly rushed me. I guess I’m a push over and hurried like she said. Stupid me.Then I got her home, and she was no where near what I thought I was buying. She just wasn’t as good when I brought her home than when she was at her place. hmmmm. . Since the horse was nothing like how she said she was, I wanted to bring the horse back for a refund. She says she doesn’t have the money but she will trade me for this big Hanovarian mare, i’m like, ok well that sounds better than what I have. whatever. I don’t know much about warmbloods at the time, so I just went with it. Well, the horse is supposedly branded, eligble for registration, approx. 10 years old, sound as can be, no issues, etc. I get the horse home, the brand was barely visible because it was a poor job and didn’t burn all the way to the skin, the brand was only visible in her summer coat, and it traced back to NOTHING after much research just someones random brand. The horse was 19+++ by my vet, the horse has some serious lymphangitis (sp? trying to read the vet’s scribble) of her one rear leg, she was so girthy that she about killed everyone in her path the first time I saddled her up and tore the barn down just about, but then when we finally rode her after her leg was healed and jumped her she was a real packer, so I can’t complain about that, that was just luck I think.
This is when the problems start, after Britney gets the QH mare back. I didn’t want the warmblood mare at first either, with all the problems she had and for all the things she deceived me of. So, I can’t get a hold of her, so I drive all the way back down there to give her the horse back. She wasn’t home so I left a note on the door, showing proof of what my vet says about the warmblood and how I want my money back. She freaks out and says I was tresspassing, how she has an alarm system and video surveillance, and blah blah blah ( she thinks I walked through her barn and all over her property but I never did and I told her she would already know that if she really did have cameras) and Coschocton Sheriff will be contacting me and she’s going to sue me because the original horse I got from her was (according to her vet)malnurished, had a poor coat, had a soft tissue hip injury that could make her lame for life, extremely lethargic, pale gums, serious dehydration. Geese …[edit]
The story is even more complex and mindboggling that it gives me a headache just thinking about it, and I could never remember all the details [edit]. Just avoid her at all costs.

Britney Sturtz took in my horses after hardships forced me to get rid of them, i told her when i left them that she had to keep in regular contact with me about them and i was to be able to come see them whenever i wanted to. well after about 6 mo. of daily calls being ignored i gave up hope on ever locating my 3 horses that i have had for 24 years. i am sick of this lady ignoring my calls, i want my horses back, i want to talk to her and i want to see them. she was never to sell them and she was never to ride them, how convient she left that out of the writen contract. that was all verbal when i droped them off to her. long story short, she will take your horse, make promises, then not fallow through…i will be making a trip to her farm on thurs. i just pray that my girls and my lil pony are still alive and i didnt doom them to death or even worse a life filled with suffering.

i am in search of my 2 mares and 1 pony that i gave to britney sturtz, i attempted several times to get a hold of her to see them but she wouldnt answer calls or anything…i want to know that my childhood friends are okay, i had them for 24 years and hardships forced me to find what i thought was a good home, now i find rip off reports and everything else on her and her farm…please help me !! maybe there is a happy ending and she did good by them ?
These are the responses from her:

Why in the world would you post such lies about Brit Le’ Brand Farms or myself? You haven’t emailed or called my cell phone. If you wanted an updated on them why didn’t you email me at rocnchoclatediesel@yahoo.com or call? The Rip off report is a bunch of lies as prooved,as is everything else posted on my name, but I’m not going into that. I’m very uspet to think I took these horses in got them health, happy and fat and you state that I stole them. You signed ownership over to me completely, I have the document. If you wanted an update you should of notified me instead of putting this ad of lies. Thanks
#2 :
Amanda Baldwin~ I’m shocked to see your slanderous ad stating that I stole your horses! Which you know is not true. You Amanda, brought the horses and pony to my farm and clearly signed them over to me and put them in my care. I have the signed document by yourself in my possession. The horses that you brought to my farm Velvet and Smarty were in very poor condition as you know when you brought them. Which we spoke about that when you brought and delivered the horses to the farm yourself. From the point that you brought them I did everything that I possibly could, special grains, supplements, vitamins and an extra amount of love from myself and my family; loved them dearly. And we are all appaulded that you would claim anything otherwise.
#3 :
Unfortunately due to their poor health problems Velvet and Smarty have passed away. This was very sad and heart breaking for myself and family. Buddy with his issues of previously being foundered with horrible constricted tendons, is doing good. We would love to send you a picture of him, but will do so only if these lies and slanderous material is removed by yourself. The ripoff report that your speaking about is a site for disgruntaled people that have tried to get away with certain issues. 1. Reportedly killed one of Brit Le’ Brand Farms own horses while on a 6 month lease, horse is missing to date. 2.Two people not following there legal notorized contracts and Brit Le’ Brand Farms follows t 3. One person wanted a contract signed by us

My legal advisor is in the process of taking care of all false negative documented information. We are proceeding along with finding our missing horse and following the new found information of one of our horses being surgically altered with out our permission. Our horses are our first priority and receive the best care possible. Brit Le’ Brand Farms will not stand for slander at any degree. If this false negative ad is not removed promptly, we will further all this on to our legal advisor also. We have all documentation regarding Velvet, Smarty and Buddy on file and recorded. Brit Le’ Brand Farms has done nothing, were advised not to respond to this rag trash, ripoff report. We would love to correspond with you once this is all cleared up
So, now i dont know what to beleave, dont know if my horses did in fact pass away or did she sell them and just telling me…why would she use my pony like that to take my adds down ? i dont know what to do now, i e-mailed her back though…this is what i said :

i never said any lie i said i tried for about 6 mo to call you and got nothing…you were to keep in touch with me like we agreed on, and as for buddy, he never foundered, he bowed his tendons in both front legs and was treated by a vet several times for it. my mother and i will be up to check on his welfare like agreed upon when they were left. do you know what it is like to wonder about someone you knew all your life…not something, b/c those horses were my family, my best friends, and my everything for 23 years of my life…then they got sick and you said you would Keep in touch and didnt…do you have any idea how hard i have been looking, how often i called…do you care at all ? if you do then you wont fight with me and you will do whats rite and let us see him for ourselvs…if you infact had to put down my mares or they passed then you must have vet records or sum proof that you didnt sell them. we can be civil about this and not have to have it get nasty, all i care about is the wellfare of my horses, thats all that i have ever cared about…why do you think i paied the 400 it costed to get them to you? it costed you nothing. please do whats rite and let me see my best friend again.

Amanda Custer~
Our legal advisor has been forwarded both ad’s for slander ( the first false ad and now the revised second version of the false ad). My legal advisor is monitoring the site for immediate removal and is waiting for my approval for proceedings. In the previous email I explained to you the complete situation. You, Amanda Custer never tried to contact regarding the horses or you would of left messages and your message would of been returned. You have not emailed me or I would of emailed you back. You clearly stated the conditions in your email of the horses upon arrival here, quote " those horses were my family, my best friends, and my everything for 23 yrs of my life… then they got sick.". At that point I being the gracious person took them in and gave them the best love, care, supplements, grains and etc till there last days. They were extremely happy horses and very loved. As stated before once the false ad on Dreamhorse.com and any other negative remarks associating our farm name and my personal name are removed,( after following the complete instructions of our legal advisor) then I will send you an update on Buddy by Certified US Mail. After the false ad is removed your welcome to send the address where you would like the update sent. You, your mother or any other people associated with you, are not welcome. You are being made aware that you are not permitted on Brit Le’ Brand Farms property or any property surrounding it.

If she and her family are as honest as they say they are, she should not have a problem with you visiting. They have nothing to hide, right? This is a copy out of her rebuttal on “ripoff report”, the very last sentence : “Inclosing Brit Le’ Brand Farms welcomes all visitors with a kind heart. You don’t have to want to adopt a horse to visit Brit Le’ Brand Farms. If you have the love for equines, give us an email and we will set up a visit. Thank You Brit Le’ Brand Farms.” She must have forgot that she wrote that:eek:. I’m sure a sheriff’s deputy would be most helpful to you. Too bad it might have to be that way. Good Luck to you!
[QUOTE=trailqueen;3509004]
Does your friend have the fraud papers, all correspondence, etc.? She should contact others in this thread who are pursuing legal action. Has she thought about returning the horse to B or is that not an option? B could keep the horse AND stick the papers “where the sun don’t shine”[/QUOTE]
The papers where sent to APHA not knowing they were a color copy. APHA are the ones that informed her that they were not the originals. She has thought about returning her, but I doubt B would give her a refund.
She has been getting legal advise. But is concerned with the cost. I have kept her informed as to what is being said here. The sad thing is she REALLY likes this mare. A little girl showed her in W/T at the county fair. So she really is a nice horse, and I know D (my friend) would just like all of this to be over. She was hoping to maybe breed the mare eventually. But she won’t if she can’t get the papers.
Just Curious
Mandy,
How did you hear about/find out that Britany would take your horses in the first place?
Amanda–hang in there! Don’t let her turn you around–she just lies! Lies! Lies! You and your mom should contact the sheriff’s offfice in Ohio. The man working on this case is very nice and easy to talk to. We must stick together and NOT let her win!

UPDATE ON BRITNEY STURTZ ABOUT COURT: after Britney dismissed the lawsuit she filed against us, now she sent a certified letter of request for us to exhume the horse take him in for cremation and deliver vet certification of cremation and the remains to her at her farm for burial, of course she would like this at my cost. Her reason for the dismissal was to protect the confidentiallity of her clients, I subpenia her records, pertaining to the horse including previous adoption papers, this caused her to dismiss. I am probably going to file a libel suit against her for slander of our farm, it may be the only way to make her go away…will keep you posted[/QUOTE]
Mandy, B told you your two horses passed away? Have her prove it like she told Hampshire:eek:
