Anyone else having issues with Smartpak?

I placed an order Monday afternoon. I’m located in the same state as the Smartpak warehouse/store.

On Wednesday afternoon when it still hadn’t shipped (even though on the page it said “ships 10/24” and expected arrival date was yesterday) I called and added a bucket of supplements to the order.

I got a shipment notice last night - for only the bucket of supplements. My original order still hasn’t shipped - four days after I placed it.

When I called, the girl on the phone says the shipping department is “a few days behind.”

What gives? If you’re a few days behind then update your planned ship and arrival dates. She couldn’t tell me when this might actually ship other than it will arrive “Monday at the latest” but since it still hasn’t shipped I don’t see how that will happen. I ordered some breeches that I needed to have this week.

I have a huge store credit that I need to spend down but otherwise I think I am going to give smartpak a pass from now on. Their primary advantage used to be free, fast shipping since I’m so close to the warehouse/store. I’ve never had a major retailer take four days to put an in-stock item in a box.

I’m also in MA and have had issues with them lately as well… they used to be really good. I would place an order in the morning and receive it the next day. Now I’m getting my orders 3-4 days after placing them and they never ship the day they say they will. It’s not a super big deal, I just really liked knowing that I’d most likely receive the order the next day. I’ve switched to ordering all of my stuff (except supplements) from Riding Warehouse. They always ship same day, their prices and customer service are awesome, and they offer $5 two business day delivery. Also, awesome return policy. I really like them!

I get a lot of stuff from Riding Warehouse. I think after this order my store credit is around $100, I will keep that for small stuff and just shop elsewhere from now on.

I had the opposite problem this week.
Along with my auto-ship smartpak supplements I get a bag of horse treats that is supposed to ship along with them.
On Tuesday I had a box from Smartpak, it was my monthly auto-ship horse treats.
My supplements will not get here until today or tomorrow (they typically arrive on Friday) so no idea why they shipped out my treats early and in their own box.

In your case, OP, I would call and ask to talk to someone up the food chain to find out where your original order is.

I had the same issue as you did this week, OP. I saw that a bit I ordered was listed as arriving by Thursday but also “not yet shipped.” I chatted with customer service and they said the shipping department was running behind but they would upgrade it to expedited shipping. That was either yesterday or Tuesday but I want to say yesterday. It arrived yesterday after all! Oddly enough, it still shows “not yet shipped.” So your item might have already shipped too.

While it’s kind of annoying that there wasn’t better communication up front, 99.9% of my experiences with SmartPak have been good so I won’t hold this one against them. I do like Riding Warehouse too but their selection is not as good.

Hm. I’m no where near a SmartPak warehouse but everything has been on time or before expected. Sorry to hear you guys are having problems.

They have had quite a few big sales recently.

What is posted here reminds of how things get while they are having their big Christmas sales. Shipping gets behind.

Then logically having more sales is not going to solve the issue…

I also got offered the expedited shipping, but I think 4 business days to ship an in stock item is beyond “behind.”

I was just about to post about smart pak. I have 2 horses on a 29.99 dollar supplement. so my total order should be around $60 + tax and free shipping since my order is over $40, right? Well, the first month that was the case, then unbeknownst to me the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th month they decided to tack on shipping because each smartpak wasn’t over $40. When I called and asked about it the first month, the one where I agreed to the credit card charge, was a computer glitch. The other months were correct and even when I expand details on my order history it says Product:29.99, tax:2.68, total:41.62 no shipping charges are listed. Just the math doesn’t add up. That whole thing is just scammy. If you don’t want to offer free shipping don’t offer it. If I order over $40 in smart paks don’t try to fine print someone about it has to be per horse. A $40 supplement order is a $40 supplement order.

I haven’t had issues with SmartPak but I have noticed Amazon doing this a lot lately… and I swear they will change the text in your confirmation from “guaranteed shipping date” to “estimated” :mad:

YES!!!

It is so annoying to see it should arrive by a certain date and no mention of it not being in stock and then a week later realizing it has not shown up yet so you check and it has not even shipped yet.

Yes I just had that issue! I ordered on 10/20/17. It said “status: not shipped yet. Estimated arrival date: 10/26/17.” This was on 10/26/17 (yesterday) when I checked my order status. I emailed SmartPak, and while they didn’t respond to me, I suddenly got shipping notifications texted and emailed to me. The shipping was also upgraded to next day air with no cost to me.

I ordered something Tuesday (barn shipping) set to ship Wednesday. Still listed as not yet shipped. Usually I get things in within 3 days but it has to ship for that to happen. It’s still showing as will ship on 10/25 and now saying will arrive on 10/31…

I’m not anywhere near the store, and things used to take a solid week to get to me. Which was fine. But the past few orders have been really slow and items have come in separate boxes on separate dates, which puts them into the same obnoxious packaging category as Amazon. Except that I understand that Amazon may have items in different warehouse locations. I thought Smartpak just had the one location? I have been doing a lot less shopping from them over the past couple of years and switched to other stores.

Sounds like they’re having distribution issues on the east coast.

I put in an order on Wednesday and had it yesterday, but I’m in AZ.

Considering their warehouse is on the east coast, that makes little sense.

My order still hasn’t shipped at 5pm warehouse time on Friday. When I spoke to them they offered to upgrade to 1 day shipping which is fine but makes no difference because I’m literally two hours away and everything arrives next day…when it ships.

I’m pretty/very disappointed.

It’s very hit or miss. One of my horses gets an AM pak and a PM pak, same supplement (for his tummy). It used to all ship together now it comes in 2 separate shipments and they don’t always arrive on the same day. That’s kind of odd.

Some stuff will say it will be here in 2 days! And doesn’t show up for a week or more. I figure I’m out here in the west and maybe they ran out of stock on this side of the country. Not sure! But it’s never anything that I need RIGHT AWAY so it’s not a big deal to me.

Or you want something shipped with your regular paks and it comes in a totally separate shipment. It only got weird once they got the warehouse on this side of the world.

Yes! I have had the same shipping problems with them. Not using anymore.
