Anyone want to help name a new puppy?

You could just call him “Fiddich”…

Glad you saved Bagpipe!

Och!, Yer aff yer heid an’ yer bum’s oot the windae! Any sane Scot knows that Glenlivet is the best whiskey!

Yes, of course! Glenlivit! Livit would be a cute call name!

I come from a strong Scot family and am starting to remember some in-laws and out-laws names.

Coinneach, pronounced CON-a, means handsome.

Fergus/ Fearghus

”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹ Beathan pronounced BAEy-un, means life.

Some Scottish animal names…

Cailehn, pronounced KA-lehn, means whelp, young dog. A distant cousin called his dog this.

Conall, means strong wolf in Irish mythology.

My Grampy called one of our dogs Shindig, meaning jump around.

There was another that meant Friend of Horse but I can’t remember it.

Lol, half my friends and relatives prefer Glenfiddich and the other half Glenlivit, it’s like arguing over hockey teams!

We have a Wheaten we named Brogan. No high pitched sound if you have to yell it, low and forceful! My naming test

As a current JRT mom, I feel this in my soul. LOL! That is my reasoning for the 2 syllables preference and ease of pronunciation, so that I can quickly yell it if needed.

We added a few new possibilities:

Brody
Clancy
Duffy
Corbin
Cathal

Trying to upload attachments from phone so forgive me if this doesn’t work

Thank you! The puppies are having a photoshoot this weekend, so I should have new pictures next week.

It’s a good thing that Spotted Dick is an English named dessert! 🤣

In a shocking twist of fate, we lost our 12 year old JRT on Monday. I’m glad that our puppy isn’t ready yet because we are having conflicted feelings about it now just because we don’t want it to seem like we are trying to replace our beloved Tanner. In our heads, we know that this pup was planned way before we knew anything, but our hearts are a little torn.

On one hand, we’ll be happy to have a dog in the house again (our other two dogs prefer the outdoors even though we “force” them to sleep inside at night and in bad weather), but on the other, we feel a bit like a traitor at the same time. Hopefully, in the next two weeks, we can come to terms with it all.

I do have an updated picture, but I’ll have to get it from my text messages so that I can post it. Our puppy, who we think may be an Ollie (Oliver) or an Augie (Augustine), is both whiney and bossy according to the breeder.

Very sorry for the loss of your Tanner dog RacetrackReject. It’s always so tough to lose a beloved animal.

sooo sad. 12 yrs with a JRT goes by so quickly. The little buggers do take over your life. Do go on, your new guy needs you.

So sorry about Tanner from a fellow JRT mama. There is never enough time.

Your new puppy is not a replacement but an addition, just as he was planned to be before your loss of Tanner. He will be good for your heart. ♥️

I’m sorry for the loss of your dog Tanner, but nice to have another pup to take up some room in your heart.
I like Ollie and Augie. Add me to the group that’s not a fan of Haggis. I recently got a female puppy myself in and in my quest for a name, I came across a bunch of great names for males - can’t think if it was Irish towns, rivers, or a good list of boy’s names. Can’t find it now. ugh.
