Horze makes them.

If you don’t mind pull-on (with belt loops), Sticky Seat uses silicone dots that way grippy and blend better, and have a nice tan. I have three or four pair in the tan.

Try a pair of the smartpak knit breeches. I haven’t shown in them yet but I wear them for schooling

If I was going to wear a full seat silicone in the hunter ring I would choose the Equiline Cedar x-grip. It has that clean Equiline look and the grip is low-profile. It looks like this: https://www.tacknrider.com/shop/equiline-full-seat-breeches-cedar/?attribute_pa_color=black&attribute_pa_size=us-24eu-36it-40&utm_source=Google%20Shopping&utm_campaign=ProductFeedPro&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=41737&utm_content=GoogleProductProShopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIptPDuZvT7AIVlLWyCh2ExwxEEAQYBSABEgKEQvD_BwE

Phew! Now I finally know which brand has that black tag on the left thigh that always makes me think that somebody had an accident with their boot polish! And of course, it turns out to be the same company that makes jackets with a distracting tag on the arm. Good to know.

Does anyone actually know someone who swears by the Equilines over perfectly fine, less expensive breeches for a real reason other than they’re trendy? I have to be honest they strike me as breeches rich people buy because they can, not because they’re actually any better. I’ve watched them walk by on many legs at horse shows and I don’t understand the price tag. I also don’t think I’ve ever seen them on anyone that is not tall and/or lean. You take that black tab and put it on my shorter, rounder thigh and it’s suddenly occupying a whole lot more real estate which I would think makes it even more distracting than it already is.

One of the commentators during Medal finals commented on how much he hates the breeches with the black thigh mark also.

Really dislike that black triangle on the side of the breeches!! So unattractive and unnecessary.

Really? Who said that?

I think the black tag is an unnecessary distraction, but hate is a strong word.

I have not used them in the hunter ring except a very small schooling show but I like my Smartpak silicone grip ones.

I can’t remember who it was, whoever the male commentator was with Emma Fletcher during the second day. It might be buried in the medal finals thread what his name was. A girl came in with breeches that did not have the thigh tab and he was was all about it, commenting how much he preferred that and how distracting he thinks the black tab is.

Huh. Interesting, thanks.

@MHM I found it in the thread, the commentator was Tom Brennan. I remember the comment was from the second round before the final 6 tested.

Even my not-so-horsey DH had MHM’s boot polish thought on that black triangle watching WIHS Eq the other day. Bugs me, too!

Yes, it has the black triangle. It used to distract me as well, but thank goodness it doesn’t seem to distract qualified judges who don’t seem to let their placings be impacted by a great and functional pair of breeches.

I still remember when I bought my Ariat Monaco boots 8 years ago - it could have been a house payment! But those boots have lasted and lasted and are still going strong and people still comment on how gorgeous they are! Nice equipment, when well maintained, tends to last longer than cheaper options. I always amortize my purchases and in the long run, sometimes the more expensive option is the best long-term one. I also buy used where I can.

I thank God every day I don’t show western, as jackets are $3-6k!!! EEK!!!

What does this even mean? I find the black tag distracting as do many, many people, some of them fine judges.
