Back button not working

That only works twice for me, then I have to us “latest” again.

I can back up infinitely by right clicking/long pressing and selecting the page. But don’t understand why it would be necessary, if you are just looking to go back to the previous list of topics. How do you browse the board? Perhaps we can come up with a few more options for you if we better understand your process.

OK.
This morning there were 13 hours of posts since I left last night.

I selected “latest” from the hamburger menu.

I selected a post and read it.

I right-clicked the back button, and there were 3 copies of THAT page name, then two “latest”. I clicked “latest” and it took me back to the latest list, positioned at the post I just looked at.

I selected another (2nd) post and read it.

This time, when I right clicked the back button there were 3 copies of THAT page name, then ONE “latest”. I clicked “latest” and it took me back to the latest list, positioned at the post I just looked at.

Then I selected another (3rd) post and read it.

This time, when I right clicked the back button there were 3 copies of THAT page name, then 3 copies of another previous thread, but NO “latest”.

So I had to go back to the hamburger menu and click “latest” there, which took me back to the “latest” list, put positioned up at the top, and I had to scroll down until I found the thread I had most recently read. THAT is where I have to scroll through, say, 7 hours of threads to get BACK to where I was.

This is curious! I can’t replicate this part. If you pick the last option on the list (right click on the back button, select the last choice on the list), and then once that page loads, you right click the back button again for a new list of pages to “back” to, do you have your latest page offered? If yes, does clicking that return you to the right location of your latest page?

This is certainly a hassle, but hopefully less of one than losing your place by reloading the latest page entirely!

Another thing to try would be right clicking on the thread title from the latest page & opening in a new tab (or window.) You can read the thread, then close the tab, and your latest page is untouched. Right click the next thread, continuing to open in new window for each as you read through. Might be a little easier than navigating through the page history?

Just bumping to see if there’s been any progress on this issue. I’ve got a workaround, it just sucks.

I’m using Win11 and/or Android OS, both with Google Chrome, if that is useful to the tech overlords as they troubleshoot.

I have to hit the back button 3 or 4 times until it moves me back. Never happens on the first or second click. Annoying

I haven’t heard any news on this front, so I just sent an inquiry about it. Thanks for the prod!

I’m having the same issue. I’m using DuckDuckGo, and I thought it was the price I paid for a non- data- collecting browser, but this is the only site I’m having the issue with. Often when I click “back” it shows a loading bar, then briefly shows me Google or Facebook with a line through it in the browser bar (indicating it has blocked them from tracking my activity) but doesn’t change pages. I have a work around but it’s annoying.

As of this morning, it’s only requiring one click to go back a page again! The escalation may have worked!

My experience this morning is the same as it has been. Many clicks to go back.

The developers said they worked on the issue yesterday and thought it was now resolved. @trubandloki on what platform are you still having the issue? Have you tried clearing cookies for the site?

Thanks!

Suddenly the back button is working for me on 1 try!! Thank you and hallalujah!

I now so habitually hit back 3 times that this is going to be fun while I relearn to click it once lol

I just tested it again on two different machines.
On the Chromebook, using Chrome it works.
On this PC, also using Chrome, it does not work.

Later today I will close everything on the computer that it is not working on to see if that fixes the problem.

Haha…I was just the messenger! Thanks to everyone for their patience and follow-up on the issue.

@Janet Could you try clearing cookies for the site from your laptop and see if that helps?
