Badminton anyone?

Toddy on interview now. Saying ground not a significant factor. Toddy just said that where he fell the ground was undulating so he couldn’t see a stride from far out - got to the fence and was just simply on a wrong one. Just one of those things. I didn’t see it thanks to the BBC.

Paul Tapner on course now. Going well so far - fence 7.

Toddy doing the commentating on BBC at the moment so if you can expat shield in -probably worth it

YAY! My feed finally is working. I’m afraid to move a muscle now

Sophie Jenmen - a couple of really silly stops at the outlander bank but now flying beautifully through the vicarage vee. How perverse! Now commentator saying she technically had three stops at the bank and may be pulled up - a shame as now jumping like a pro.

Carolyn Ryan-Bell - naughty stop at the lake.

Tim Lips - seems ot have had an outstanding round. Really beautiful jumping all the way around. Paul Tapner - clumsy riding through the Vee - but horse jumping like a champ. Horse full of running still.

Horses now routinely starting to go the long way at Huntsmans - including Paul Tapner, who is still going well. Toddy thinks he was a bit chicken as the time taken to do that long route may well cost him the title. PT has been a bit conservative - chipping in strides (him chipping in, not hte horse).

Carolyn Ryan Bell’s horse is not playing at the water fences today. She should stop :frowning:

Lucinda Fredericks stopped after fence four - horse very lame - no apparent reason, was only at fence four and had jumped seemingly well. Didn’t seem to slip or anything. :frowning:

crap.

Mark Kyle and horse fell. Horse and rider fine. Fell at fence 18 where they took the middle fence out. Didn’t look at bad fall.

On a side note almost every horse has been grey!

I know, poor Lucinda. The camera was right on them, there didn’t seem to be any reason - must’ve landed awkwardly (camera was behind them, so couldn’t see landing side) She certainly didn’t need that after just losing Brit…

Neil Spratt just fell in the Lake. He’s smiling! Took slow route, on great line to the boat in the lake and horse just left a leg. Absolutely no reason for the fall - just showed replay. Bummer.

I wish I could watch! Where are you folks watching this from?

Irish rider Sarah Ennis, silly stop at top of outlander bank. They’re continuing fine. She’ll be kicking herself. Toddy just saying problems well spread around the course no particular bogey fence.

Sarah Ennis just stopped at colt pond. - Guess she’ll retire soon - or have another stop. Shame as she’s stopped at the easier fences and jumped the Vicarage Vee etc OK!.

Sannois, I’m in the UK so it’s on TV - though service just gone off again - weather is bad. You can follow on the badminton website they have live radio. (or download the badminton app which has a link to the radio).

People in the US can watch via FEI TV or BBC if you use expat shield or similar.

For those who just lost the BBC service - it’s back on -try again.

Wendy Schaeffer riding fast and risky. but horse pinging (so far)

Louisa Lockwood ran past skinny after bank - took ages to pull up and go back but continuing.

Wendy Schaeffer still galloping and jumping well - getting time penalties but not too far from home. Horse still pulling - she must be pooped! but nice to see horse finishing well.

I was able to access the live feed thru expatshield as of several minutes ago … but keep getting the message “this content doesn’t seem to be working - try again”. Going to keep trying.

In the official results the falls are going under E. I’d rather know which E’d on jumping and which fell.

So this course is catching people out - ? It must be a nightmare for a first-time course designer to see so many “Big Names” running into problems, even if it isn’t necessarily the course that’s the cause.

Well, best of luck to all of them there today!

IT’S UP !!! Live feed is working!!! woohoo !!!

wait - spoke too soon -

Got an update thru the iphone app that Fence 26 has been removed?

I think it’s a very horse friendly course. Problems all around and riders having to think. Some horses still look full of running and it’s a case of hunting round and using your brain. Ground is having an influence but good jumping horses are doing well. Those who look weak in any area are being found out.
