Yes!!!
Twice per fence. Oof. It just seems if you’re using the crop that many times maybe something isn’t right.
DD and I are yelling at the TV - someone wipe the lens!!
It’s interesting because the equi ratings podcast thought earlier horses would have an advantage as not having torn up footing, but it’s looking like the later horses will benefit more with the sun drying it out more.
That spot is getting heavier and worse, just imo.
It’s so perfectly round, and sometimes it’s a bit larger or smaller. I think someone is trying to be clever.
And now owl hole camera has it too. Damn.
Who is the female commentator?
And another retirement.
It’s wise, imo, to call it a day while the horse is still feeling successful. Like this one. Horse thinks he had a great day.
Lucinda Green.

Calling out Ollie for not pulling up
Speaking her mind:+1:
the last 4 have not completed - 2R and 2RF
US and Cdn riders coming up soon. hoping they have a good ride
I certainly don’t have Ollie’s experience. But in my experience, when horses are ridden past the point where they can focus, you end up with a horse that doesn’t take away a good feeling about the next ride to come. They start to have a backed off attitude about the whole thing.
Better to finish with a horse feeling confident and positive. Just IMO.
Did he not nearly fall last year on Swallow Springs?
Yes, he was eliminated but then reinstated after nearly crashing a corner fence early on
Caroline Powell’s horse just isn’t coming off the ground on a lot of jumps.
Female commentators:
Tina cook
Lucinda green
Now: Nicola Wilson
Tina was really good, I thought. Very clear voice. Well spoken and so knowledgeable.
Ok fuzzy spot camera is on the “Light source“ sponsored combination. Is the spot some kind of stupid promotion trick?
Wild speculation here. The horses are not feeling comfortable and as a result, their heads are coming up higher than usual. Stressing the martingale. That is my guess, all I have to offer.
lol
But yeah, that must’ve been a bad batch of connectors or something.
Agree, I think the horses are jumping big and wonky over some fences and the leather on the breastplates are just giving way. And more than likely, most of it isn’t brand new tack, so the leather at some point gives way.
it’s condensation, not much to be done until it dries out unfortunately. the owl hole one seems to be clearing a bit
