Pleasure watching USA rider Katherine Coleman. Patting her horse after every fence and going out for experience and not trying to win
Thanks, having lived in many humid climates it makes perfect sense.
I guess they don’t want to clean it and smear the lens.
That level of condensation tells a lot about conditions today!
She is having a great ride !!! And smiling !!!
I’m not sure it is the leather breaking, most of the martingales now clip to D rings on the girth and it seems to be the clips going.
Tim Price has withdrawn his 2nd ride now too.
Senna deserves all the pats.
My guess on the martingales is that it is the leather where it is sewn to the clips that is breaking. Warmth and humidity can expand and contract the threads, the leather, and the holes.
Maybe there is some wear accumulation, as from the remarks of the commentators it seems this type of weather has been coming and going for several months .
I don’t know, of course. but yeah, something is going on with quite a few of them.
Michael Winter withdrawn too
Not foot perfect, but I think this is only her second time at 5* so it’s not going to be perfect. But I don’t think she was dangerous or unsafe- just green. Enjoyed her ride and the smile she had throughout the course.
Plus the horse look awesome! Still jumping big and looking good through the end of the course.

lol
Horses not looking well half way through the course. The tired jumping of the horses at the fences when they shouldn’t be knackered at that point on course.
The riders having to kick kick kick for galloping and not covering ground well.
Side note, the rider who just retired ( after trying to trot the big corner in the water at the head of the lake) at huntsman close made a smart decision. When he hopped off to loosen his girth his horse was heaving. Smart decision

This might be her year. Seems like being able to take the foot off the gas pedal is helping Lillian get a clean ride and not have a silly mistake
Quite a few recent withdrawals. It looks like they decided this was too much for their greener horses.
Quite a few rider falls, is that right?
To me, it seems a lot of horses are putting a foot wrong, miffing an approach, not landing cleanly, that kind of thing. End up in a scramble that could tip a rider off.
Oh good for Lillian & Barnaby !!!
Tom McEwans balance is pretty amazing to watch
Oh no, Kitty’s down
All those pats from Tom is pretty adorable!
Toledo finished the course in completely different condition than many others too

hen he hopped off to loosen his girth his horse was heaving.
I thought all the ones pulled up, whether voluntary or from a fall, were heaving like that TBH.
Tom mcewon had a beautiful ride !! Brilliant!!
