Balou du Rouet 2010/2011 offspring?

So I’m going through a bit of a rough spot and there’s nothing like baby “ponies” to cheer me up. I think Balou du Rouet is the bee’s knees. If I ever get to own or breed my own in years to come, I’d love to have one of his kids. In the mean time, I’d love to live through you all! Any pictures/stories of the 10/11 foal crop? Anyone expecting any this year? Humor me folks…please and thank you! Bring on the pictures!!(and the chrome!!;))

I have a 2010 Balou colt born May 23. Here are some gangly yearling pictures at 11 months (hopefully this link will work).

We had a Balou colt this morning! He’s out of my good mare, EM Francesca by Wanderer. He’s dark bay with bling-nice medium blaze, 3 -1/2 stockings and a spot on his side that looks like a piece of a puzzle. Will post pictures in the next day or so.

Hopefully Karin from Sporting Chance will also join this as she has had many Balou offspring.

This year we had our first two Balou offspring both are registered KWPN and we just love our two Balou colts!

I have seen many Balou foals over the years and being honest I have never seen a Balou I did not like, he really stamps his foals there is no question about this.

Our KWPN mares that were bred to him are very similiar in type both modern types which is what I think you need for Balou and our colts are outstanding at least we think so.

You can see them here on our website:

On our facebook page, see link below, there are many more photos of our boys.

One thing I can tell you about Balou as a sire is he brings an excellent mind and great movement. Our colts love people and are two of the most friendly foals we have ever worked with huge personalities and very outgoing. You can have the most talented horse in the world but without a great mind willing to work you have nothing.

So Tattered I hope our Balou Boys do not disappoint and make you love Balou even more, who does not like chrome but for us we bred to Balou because he was a great match for our mares and he delivered big time!

Here is our first Balou filly born on 4/8/11. She has such a lovely temperament and has been very easy to teach thus far. She’s definitely people oriented and loves to follow anyone (or anything) she thinks will pay her attention. I could watch her all day frolicking about, doing roll backs, the most effortless changes, and imagining how fun it will be to start her under saddle!

Our second Balou foal is due quite late this year (end of July) but I was so eager to have a Balou foal out of this mare I just couldn’t wait until the following spring! The mare, Bailey, is my heart horse and if I got a carbon copy of her I would be over the moon! Add some Balou to her and this one will be a keeper for me!!

Love seeing everyone’s Balou babies. They’re all so nice! Keep em coming

We put our yearling Balou du Rouet filly out of a Coconut Grove/Wanderkoenig daughter through the jump chute last weekend. She has very good form, athleticism, aptitude and especially good hind end technique (better than the mother). It was playtime for her!

I wish she was 2-3" taller at this point (appears to be headed toward 16H). And unlike the majority of the others that I’ve seen, she has NO BLING.

And unlike the majority of the others that I’ve seen, she has NO BLING.

It doesn’t matter…she is beautifully conformed, and exceedingly typey and pretty.

It was a pleasure to watch her enjoy herself in the chute.

I also am in love with this sire… I am already planning a future foal by him and my DWB filly is only three!

Let’s hope owners do not decide to geld this handsome sire in the future.

Balou du Rouet offspring…

Hello Everyone!
Thanks for the mention Michelle! GREAT foals everyone! Judy, can’t wait to see photos of your new foal!!! As many of you know, I have had 12 Balou du Rout’s, out of four different mares! We are actually expecting our first Balou GRANDCHILD, out of our very special young KWPN Ster mare, Bleu SCF. She is in foal to Lupicor, and due soon!

Feel free to check out our Balou’s… Our first (and the first Balou born on US soil), Athena SCF Ster (a Ster DRESSAGE mare!<g>, out of our Wanroij Pref mare), is in training for the big jumper ring, and said to have absolute “International, and Nations Cup” scope and talent!

Photos of all 12 Balou’s (ranging in age from 1 yr to 7 yrs old) and their Dams can be seen at:

www.sportingchancefarm.com .

Feel free to contact me with any questions, etc…
Hope this helps!

I have bred 2. Full siblings. They’re nearly all grown up now. I haven’t yet sold the mare. The colt was sold and is in NY with a hunter trainer.

Here is a photo album of the mare:

she’s 4yrs old this year. Not big, I think she’s just under 16H, she’s gorgeous, very sweet, I love her to pieces.

The colt, I don’t have a photo album of him but I have a bunch of photos of him if you go to his mom’s page and scroll down. He’s the chestnut with all the white.

VERY nice filly HFSH!!

Of course I am a huge fan…I cannot say enough what a jump he puts on them. Having one of the older ones don’t worry if they are small at first-Amazing grew late and is now a solid 16.2 And yes, the hind end power is a typical Balou trait…start your no stirrups work now!

LOVELY Balou’s everyone…keep the photos coming!

LOVE your Amazing Horsechick and love his pedigree wish you all the best with him he has matured into a fantastic stallion!

Love your two Balous HFSH they also look wonderful as does your filly NaniLio!

Both of our Balous are very tall and Glowstick looks very mature for his age he is very big.

Hope to see more Balous posted.

Adoring all the eye candy!

LOVELY babies everyone! This is just what I needed! Keep them coming please!

We have an amazing 2010 Balou colt! Out of our imported KWPN mare and is a total dream, amazing temperament and got TONS of bling. His mother is a great show jumping mare, so hopefully this guy has a future in the show jumping ring as well.

We are expecting another one next year from a different mare.

You can see him on this page, first foal (Balaklava)

Thank you to everyone for sharing the beautiful Balou foals. Nice eye candy for me too.

I guess I forgot to post the dam line of mine. He is registered AHS out of EM Favre who is Walldorf/Gesandt/Auroele xx. His mom is dressage bred but she can jump too, she scored very well in jumping on her MPT. I bought him from Kingston Farm (thank you, Mary). I am very happy with him. He has an amazing personality and is very, very smart and willing to learn.

horsechick, I love your boy. He is absolutely gorgeous. Is he coming to the 70-day test this year?

Thank you! I have been having so much fun with him! We are still deciding on what is the best way to fulfill his requirements…performance or testing. So far he’s been so good at shows, I may want to go that route.

We have a lovely 2011 filly born May 17th. She is out of a Holsteiner mare by Cassini

I forgot to mention that we did have a Balou filly this year… Gaia SCF (v. Balou u Rouet X Consul Keur (full sister to Judgement ISF Crown)). Gaia is a full sister to Eclipse SCF, who was the #1 Jumper foal for the KWPN-NA for her (thrilled) in utero buyer… Photos on the website at www.sportingchancefarm.com or my FB photos…
