Barisone assessment

In Canada, Suboxone is taken daily, and usually starts off being prescribed for a week at a time. As a client becomes stable and has a succession of urine drug tests showing they are not using other substances the prescription increases. I seldom prescribed more than 4 weeks worth, with a weekly pick up from the pharmacy.
The government regulations here are fairly strict for controlled substances (eg opiates) here, no automatic refills etc. Suboxone is supposed to be prescribed as part of a treatment programme with regular re-assessments. It does have some street value, but as it doesn’t give a “high”’ it isn’t all that popular. Much safer and easier to prescribe, monitor and stabilise a patient on Suboxone than methadone.

Wow! I’m really sorry you are feeling bashed upon. Have you ever read a woe is me post from me regarding all the bashing I’ve received over the years for expressing my thoughts, experiences with LK & others, speculation, on and on? And I was definitely in the minority group in the beginning. Have you had to consult an attorney regarding posts directed at you (as late as yesterday I might add)? Put your big girl panties on, ignore behavior and posts you think are bashing or ridiculing you and most important, participate in the discussion wearing a suit of armor. Everyone has an opinion but we all don’t have to agree. No one is posting lies about you, bringing your family into the discussion, posting ancient tired lies, whatever weapon bullies want to use at the time they feel appropriate.

I’ve said it before and it doesn’t sink in to some, NO ONE is forced to be on the CoTH forums nor are they required to post. Perhaps the forums should carry a warning of participate at your own risk.

You know, there is an entirely different way to look at this case. Michael was the victim of an assault, first.

It is my understanding anyone can open any thread they want at any time so feel free to open a new one. In the past the mods have merged parallel threads to keep confusion down. Keep in mind once a thread is open the OP has no control of what posts are made or how it meanders.

I can promise you once new significant information is available regarding Michael Barisone’s status someone will open a clean thread. Personally I am watching the civil site to if any new action has been posted.

I actually don’t think it is odd. Most people with disordered thinking have executive function deficits which would translate into “being slobs”. And some of us literally “don’t see” clutter.

This is the same story I’ve heard as well except I heard it is his mother who obtained the restraining order. I’ve been accused of seeking out and contacting that family, but again just another lie.

True. I imagine that housekeeping is not high on LK’s list of activities and RG is so busy with other things like laundry. Haleybot was a housekeeper for her at one time here in NC.

Eggbutt-

First, let me say that your posting style has changed massively for the better over the course of the threads. My issue with your general contribution to the threads, especially in the past, is that I think you use the topics of “the Barisone threads” as a pretext to simply vent your hatred of LK and tear her down with comments that really have nothing to do with the supposed topic of the threads.

As just one minor example, you came on and stated that LK had “been fired” by her trainer “in a phone call” “immediately after the trial”, and had not ridden since returning to Florida after the trial. Later you said that this information did not come from “someone close to the principals” in the case, which is an oddly specific irrelevant detail.

Even if it’s true, your stating that LK was “fired” by her trainer is obviously intended to disparage her and has no useful contribution to an actual discussion of the case. It’s the “gratuitous bashing” of LK (and anyone related to them), that I find nasty.

I do not consider myself “bashed”. I said I have been “harassed” by various petty harassments which I assume are intended to bully me off the threads. Of course I understand I can leave at any time. You g may eventually succeed in harassing me enough to get me to leave. It’s pretty tedious.

If what you say about @eggbutt’s posts is true - using your narrative - please explain how this would differ from the posts LK did to MB? I mean it’s NOTHING in comparison to what LK did to MB but consider your writing that it’s enough for you to consider leaving. Imagine, if you will, a situation where you could NOT leave, because it’s happening at your home and place of business?

Bolded my answers
Suboxone is a potent painkiller, but thanks to its use as addiction mitigator your legit use still raises eyebrows.

Your bar for harassment appears to be quite low.

If you think the QFP thing qualifies as harassment, what would you call LK‘s treatment of Gal Joey, for example?

So many situations, so many perspectives. A case could be a plot or it could be an angry dispute gone wild. A party could be jumped and in the subsequent struggle a person who was initially the criminal can appear the victim once injured in the commission of their crime if there’s no one around to know the difference. Different tolerances, motives, emotional states, histories and backgrounds all play a role. It does get mishy moshy.

But where there’s clarity and a moment of clearing, we have to use our experiences and call a situation for what it is. And it appears in this regard the majority of those watching sways one way.

No hate, simply a passion to be sure future victims know of her lying and manipative behavior. In my opinion she is a dangerous individual who does not seem to be the slightest interested in modifying her behavior.

Nope, I never said she hasn’t ridden because I don’t know. This is a tidbit some other poster conveniently added to my post about the trainer to add drama. It is interesting to me that that poster actually seemed to be telling us LK hasn’t ridden since her trainer quit. As far as who told me, that is no one’s business but, are you implying my post wasn’t true or is there simply an effort by some to learn who talks about LK? How is anyone saying she was “fired by her trainer” any more disparaging than saying she’s been banned from The Chronicle Forums?

Tell me about it. The tactic of LK supporters has always been to kill the messenger.

Why do you folks have such issues with discussing Lauren Kanarek? You seem to gleefully discuss Michael Barisone. Kanarek’s public behavior makes her fair game to many. Have you noticed there is negative discussion about Mary Haskins Gray primarily from Team Kanarek. The difference is MHG has kept her comments private, she is working on her life goals. She hasn’t put BS out for others to grasp as fodder for discussion. This is the same for everyone else on the property that day. It is easily forgotten that there were far more than 4 people effected by the situation at HH during the summer of 2019. ALL have refrained from telling their stories on SM.

LK and other family members have become their own worst enemies. LK seems to thrive on any attention and conflict she can generate. Other family members posting publicly are not helping either in the court of public attention.

I take Claritin daily.
When I get a new box or boxes, I take the blister packs out of each box, and put the blister packs all in one box.

Therefore there could be a couple boxes in my trash at a time, while I have only taken one daily.

I have a question for the mental health and legal experts. Does a NGRI prohibit a person from ever owning a weapon in the future in the event of their release from a facility.

Probably. I’m quoting a blog here:

“ Under 18 U.S.C. § 922(d), it is unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person “has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution.””

So that’s federal and not state, right?

State laws can only be more restrictive, not less than Federal laws, but yes.

Edit to add, for example, here’s part of FL law: (prohibited possessor details)

“ 4. Has been adjudicated mentally defective or has been committed to a mental institution by a court or as provided in sub-sub-subparagraph b.(II), and as a result is prohibited by state or federal law from purchasing a firearm.

a. As used in this subparagraph, “adjudicated mentally defective” means a determination by a court that a person, as a result of marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease, is a danger to himself or herself or to others or lacks the mental capacity to contract or manage his or her own affairs. The phrase includes a judicial finding of incapacity under s. 744.331(6)(a), an acquittal by reason of insanity of a person charged with a criminal offense, and a judicial finding that a criminal defendant is not competent to stand trial.

b. As used in this subparagraph, “committed to a mental institution” means:

(I) Involuntary commitment, commitment for mental defectiveness or mental illness, and commitment for substance abuse. The phrase includes involuntary inpatient placement as defined in s. 394.467, involuntary outpatient placement as defined in s. 394.4655, involuntary assessment and stabilization under s. 397.6818, and involuntary substance abuse treatment under s. 397.6957, but does not include a person in a mental institution for observation or discharged from a mental institution based upon the initial review by the physician or a voluntary admission to a mental institution;”
