I did apologize. My apology was made in reply to the poster who posted the quote I was remembering, and perhaps I didn’t tag you, as smoofox and a couple of others have been making comments as if tagging someone is rude. In this case, it would have alerted you to my apology.

I am able to admit a mistake, and have done so. I always admitted the possibility of faulty memory.

Maybe it’s been cleaned up and deleted. It made quite an impression on me at the time.
Who would have cleaned up or deleted? I see a credibility issue.

I don’t have a phenomenal memory, or even an above average memory. I do, absolutely, remember seeing it, and the only reason I would remember a post is because of the over the top nastiness. I remember it was in all caps.

And an obviously bad or maybe selective memory. Not like we weren’t already taking your comments with a huge grain of salt, but you’ve proven how dependable your memory is, I’m throwing a whole box on whatever you’re claiming, especially if CAPLOCK is used.

I appreciate your posting the “boob” post which makes it clear that my attribution to Eggbutt was incorrect.

What I remember is an all caps screaming match between LK and the other “big player poster” immediately before the thread was shut down. It’s still possible that there was a further exchange with all caps reiterating the discussing of boob fixing which was deleted by the mods when they shut the thread. It seems the worst of the posts which cause a thread to be closed are usually deleted by the mods. But even if that’s the case, you’ve convinced me the author of the quote or quotes was GreenWithEnvy, not Eggbutt.

When presented with a plausible candidate of a quote that I was misremembering, I immediately conceded that I had misattributed the quote. And apologized to Eggbutt. I know my memory is far from perfect.

When presented with a plausible candidate of a quote you could have misremembered (the quote about Walthers), you continued to insist that there was a post about Rugers that you were 100% sure you saw, and must have been deleted. Big difference.

I don’t believe anyone who claims their memory is 100% perfect. I don’t doubt that there are others who have posted they believe they saw a Rugers post. If one person reports they’ve seen the Loch Ness monster, there tend to be other reported sightings. Doesn’t establish the existence of the Loch Ness monster.

Good point. I think we’ve all had a master class in how reliable that poster’s recall is, even when - especially when? - they insist with lots of detail how right they are - the wording, the caps, how horrified they were (oh, the drama!).

Reminds me when I was attacked and two other posters were drawn in by the favoured tactic of tagging. Both those other posters were like, yeah, no, we don’t remember it that way at all and you’re claiming we were the targets - leave us out of your weird, creepy vendetta.

It was a particularly hilarious failure to have the folks who were tagged say (i) the attack was inaccurate, and (ii) not to invoke their names in order to attack me.

The fact that two of us are chummy now is just the cherry on that fail sundae!

I was never talking about the post with the Walthers. The Ruger post was a completely different post and I showed posts by 12 other people who cited ALSO SEEING THE RUGER POST.

I don’t know how long ago that was, but that is an interesting twist.

I’ve read that before. So I decided to do a deep dive into that.

It appears, from 1986-1988 Mr Bilinkis was listed as 1st Assistant Prosecutor. From 1986-1998, Judge Taylor is listed as Prosecutor. Of note, there were 100+ prosecutors in the office at that time.

Clearly though, they have a long, long history. They seem like they almost love to hate each other.

On the original issue as to whether anyone had ever made light of LKs injuries, I now revise my response to refer to this quote, by @GreenWithEnvy, not Eggbutt.

I don’t see how that quote is construed as “making light” of the seriousness of LK’s injuries. The poster isn’t denying LK was shot twice, doesn’t insinuate they were minor injuries, in fact doesn’t really talk about her injuries at all.

All she does is follow up on one of LK’s own comments about successful scores being related to image in dressage. LK is the one who made it publicly known her implant was damaged, so the question about whether she had it fixed to ensure she would present the right image when competing in Florida doesn’t seem off base. It’s certainly not in all caps, and certainly not belittling the actual gunshot injuries and subsequent surgeries…except perhaps in your own head.

You said these “belittling” posts had been occurring for years. Is that really the best example you can find, or is it the only example?
