My first dressage show on my Hunter ( by Contucci) I scored a 68 1st level by a well known judge. I had never had a dressage lesson but I dressed the p art, lol. I’ll never forget the judges comments: “ Now take some dressage lessons as you have a fabulous horse and will be in the 70’s easily with a little help”.
Has LK shown at all since the shooting? She may not be back at her “previous level” but it certainly sounds like she’d at least be able to make it through a training level test or two. I remember her coming on here a while back insisting that down in Florida she had ridden four horses before any of us were out of our jammies or something along those lines.
For sure. When they changed the scoring and made 5 ‘marginal’ and then they allowed the half-point, scores of everyone went way up. Back in the old days (mine), getting a 60% was thought of as a decent score.
No, they’re not at all bad. She’s broken 60% at 3rd 3 and 4th 3. She’s a competent amateur, and could probably be more than that if she was willing to put the work in. But in my experience, that gets harder after 40 because you have to fight your own fatigue and physical limitations. Add in some health issues and the odds are really against you.
But back to my jumper analogy. I won some classes at 3’6" and 3’9" in the schooling jumpers back in the day. (Back when we still measured in feet and inches.) Beezie still wouldn’t have been interested in me as a protege.
No, she was not as I recall because she totally disregarded the amazingly disgusting messages she sent to GJ and others over the years. Of course there is no defense for her behavior all her life and perhaps she has been forgiven entirely too many times!!
I did think the soup kitchen bit was charming though.
I don’t think anyone was pointing out the scores were “bad”, simply not FEI quality without a lot more effort on her part. A trained horse and an Olympic caliber trainer can only do so much. The rider has to truly work hard at physical and mental strength to succeed.
I actually do. From an outsiders view, and I hope you guys will adopt me into the “family”, and not knowing MB, LK, RG, JK, etc., I have never been so moved by a trial, in MB’s favor that is.
Exactly. It’s important to remember she was also buying quality schoolmasters. All the points lost would be to the rider.
If these scores were for someone who did their own schooling on an OTTB that was never going above 6 in gaits I’d be very impressed. But I still wouldn’t think that horse was going FEI.
Not an attorney, but I asked about this upthread. In order for her to prevail in her civil action, she needs to appear to be in need of recompense, and deserving of it, for the injuries that she incurred, and the resulting issues. She needs to be able to convince a jury that she is somehow deserving of their sympathy.
There is just no way she can possibly make that threshold work, IMHO.
Since you brought up GirlJoey again. What LK said to/about her was brutal and mean and vile. I remember that Lk found that GirlJoey was passing on information received from a guy LK had dated in high school that was vile. That was a back and forth discussion involving LK and part of it seemed to be verified but I can’t remember what started it? Can you?
