Barisone- New Thread

It’s actually kind of interesting. Maybe mostly to a lawyer, but I find it quite interesting.

Watching the courtroom proceedings now.

My eye rolling muscles just got a huge workout when they discussed the fact that the two defense expert witness doctors both mentioned in passing that LK and RG have a history of drug use.

But somehow, the prosecutor’s doctor did not mention that fact. What a remarkable coincidence.

Perhaps he did not have a chance to fit it in as he was so busy discussing how bright and creative she is. :woman_facepalming:

As in court staff or bailiff? No. The only people present during deliberations are the jurors.

I’m not sure if it’s been brought up or not but the jury consists of 13 men and 3 women.

I just don’t know that it’s enough. Without MB’s memory/account, what facts we do have at least roughly line up with the victims’ account. Right now my feeling is that he will be found guilty, but this whole thing is a whirling vortex of human tragedy – for all involved. While I have some really negative feelings about LK and RG… I think their lives are probably not easy and think they have a lot of demons to grapple with constantly. Not to mention being shot, and the aftermath of it, that’s some serious nightmare and PTSD material I wish on no one. I wonder what someone’s life is like, that the things she did leading up to the shooting seemed like a good idea or worth doing. It can’t be a good place to be in.

MB… well… to be so high, but so fragile, and to break in this way… it’s just tragic and immensely sad.

Them meeting, and their different brands of crazy playing off each other - it was just the perfect storm, in the worst possible way.

Does anyone happen to know if any of the women will actually be included in the ones to deliberate yet? I think someone said they are already arranged in order of the first 12 plus the 4 alternates.

I definately feel the judge was prejudiced from the start. Not allowing the SM posts, which shows even more of just what LK and RG were doing to MB, is inexcusable. A large part of evidence was never allowed and the jury had no opportunity to fully understand the depths of what LK and RG were willing to go to to destroy MB. Tayor’s overall demeanor during the whole trial was so one sided. I would not think this is now honorable judges should behave.

In Michigan, all jurors will sit through the closing arguments and jury instructions THEN we draw the alternates. We have 16 jurors (in felony cases) and draw two alternates that are dismissed to leave a jury of 14. I’m not sure how NJ does it.

It is nice because after the two alternates are dismissed they are allowed to talk about the case giving the prosecutor’s office and defense attorney time to speak with them and get their take on the case and if they would find them guilty or not, which can be helpful (of not!).

Again, this is just in Michigan and from my personal/work experience.

This would follow what Taylor said in opening instructions.

Like he just said in the jury instructions that there is no evidence that LK and RG have arrest records. Right, except there is, he just wouldn’t allow it in. He says typically you can use prior arrests to decide if the witness is truthful but…not in this case.

And he is. Much of his time was spent discussing how bright and creative he is, also. Maybe he found a kindred spirit in her.

Judge seems rather chipper today. Maybe he’s just glad it’s Friday, or maybe he read all the comments on the L&C chat and realized what an @ss he has come across as…

For all that people state Michael should have stopped or been stopped it is remarkable how few note that JK did little to nothing to get his 38 yo offpsring to stop tormenting MB.

Heck, he seems to have encouraged LK’s behavior. He certainly has invested a lot of time & money in not letting LK face any serious consequences through the decades.

I would have cut off the water & electricity to the house. For starters. But that is easy to say when no one is actively looking to destroy my business and personal life, likely bringing illegal drugs onto my property, illegally taping everyone on the property, frightening minors and doing so with a lot of encouragement and financial backing from their family.

That disgusting adult female shouldn’t have been shot. I wish she had been legally destroyed.

After sitting through 10 days of the trial, etc, when the jury goes out for deliberation, when/how will we know a verdict has been reached? Maybe Law & Crime will take our phone #'s and sent a mass text alerting that a verdict has been reached! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I kind of wondered that same thing. Maybe we can take turns keeping an eye on the results in order to post a mass update. Lol.

I’m going to set a Google Alert! Usually L&C will do a post saying there has been a verdict (in whatever case they are covering) and it will send a google alert. I think there may be a way to set an alarm for when the L&C channel goes live.

Thanks for that! Never would have known otherwise. :racehorse:

I had one question from yesterday – when Handlebar Mustache said yesterday that LK didn’t call CPS.

When asked on the stand, didn’t she say she didn’t remember calling them? And then when Balinkas said that there were two calls to anonymous CPS tipline from her phone records, she came up with a story about how Justin had stolen her phone and could have called?

This is what I remember her testimony as being.

There wasn’t much in the trial about him, a lot of posters wouldn’t know more than the small bits posted here.

It was just that there was a search for the numbers. Not that the numbers were called from her phone.
