Perhaps you could use a bit more objectivity like, say, the law. What will work within the confines of the law? Remove emotion from the equation. Emotion is what got Barisone to this point. Emotion (money pressure fear) is what got Barisone tied up with LK in the first place. He would have been better off selling a horse.

Since you’re new (uh huh) let me put it this way: all along I’ve stated things in relation to the law. I’ve corrected LK and several posters numerous times about the law.

I’m familiar with the law. LK would just babble nonsense. Don’t be like LK.

Regardless of how this trial ends, I’d say this statement goes for many, many people. Those two have left quite a collection of victims in their combined wake.

In that sense, this trial has served one purpose so far: a HUGE PSA to the horse world to avoid these two like the plague. It has now been irrefutably established under oath and in a court of law that

• they are drug users [at the very least RG currently, maybe both]
• they have multiple arrests on their records
• they lie both on SM and under oath
• they did IN FACT set out to ‘destroy’ [LK’s own words that she admitted to] MB and MHG meaning that is something they think of as normal and okay to do and will absolutely do it again
• they did illegally record their trainer and all the staff, clients, and visitors where they were boarding
• they will not behave or react as anyone would expect normal function people to [i.e., won’t leave a facility when asked]
• they will lie to gov’t/quasi gov’t agencies [SS and CPS]
• they will weaponise those agencies while lying
• they will go after anyone to achieve their ends [minors included]
• neither one has any job or any way they contribute to society [i.e., they are free all day long to amuse themselves making other people their targets]
• they will do completely unhinged things like dress in black and sneak around someone else’s property at night to satisfy their obsession to eavesdrop and spy, things normal folks couldn’t even conceive of
• they are vile and vicious in their online bullying of people like Girl Joey - like beyond all bounds of decency

And that’s just some of what we learned. We also know stuff not admitted, like threatening minors, searching for the whereabouts of a child, searching for exploding bullets, searching for CPS hotline numbers, following and filming people in public spaces and uploading the video to SM to mock them for their appearance, etc., etc. I’m sure we will learn much, much more with 48 Hours and other media coverage.

At the very least, decent people up and down the Eastern Seaboard - and beyond! - can be aware and forewarned and thus avoid any engagement at all.

No verdict will ever undo what we know about them now. No verdict will ever make any good and honest person want to deal with them. No verdict will ever mean that anyone will feel any safer being at a barn where they are, having the car unlocked around them, leaving their equipment unattended around them, or having their children around them.

So, this trial has at least resulted in a public service in putting all on notice, and that’s not nothing.

Just quoting this to repeat it. It needs to be repeated so everyone sees it.

I wonder why the defense had their experts in that order? Wouldn’t you put the heaviest hitter last, to end with a bang?

I thought it was more matter of putting your best foot forward first to make a good impression. Plus, to me, Dr. Simring’s approach seemed a little less technical and more user-friendly, so he could get the jury swayed in that direction. Then Dr. Hasson could follow up and bring the details of all his test results, etc.

I did literally laugh out loud when I watched one of the clips again later, and Mr. B said to Dr. Hasson, “What was that test for again? I forgot.” Yes, I’m sure Mr. B forgot. Lol.

Honestly, if there’s a chance of bumping into LK, would he want to risk being at a show?

Well, I think one thing that separates dressage shows from most other shows is that there are no post entries since the ride times have to be arranged well in advance. So it would certainly be easy enough to know what shows to avoid if that was really an issue.

Plus it looks like LK has not shown for a while anyway, according to the records on the USEF website.

Thanks for this. I remember when I learned about this and also not to use gypped. That second one I’d never seen written so it never would have occurred to me how offensive it is. If you’d asked me I would have guessed it was jipped. I thought it was just a made up word. And I thought maroon was just a word made up by Bugs Bunny (referencing the colour/he mispronounced moron). So, I know loads of people use both thinking nothing of it. It’s always good to share the knowledge in such a civil constructive way like you just did!

If they can’t decide he’s guilty of attempted murder beyond a reasonable doubt, they can say Not Guilty.

It depends on prior relationships, etc. I do know of one difficult client who was passed around like a hot potato between a few different trainers. She wasn’t close to the level of Lauren and Rob, but she was… very trying. Every time she was “fired” or left, the trainers did give each other a heads up, or had a quick chat to discuss what blew up this time.

I knew of a similar client some years back who also had the added complication of being fluent in Spanish, although you would not think it from looking at her.

So every time she changed barns, the old barn manager would call the new barn manager to give them a heads up so they could tell their barn staff ahead of time. Lol.

He cannot remember a snippet of the event – the actual shooting. He remembers getting the gun, getting in his car, and driving down to the house. He just doesn’t remember the actual act of shooting–the criminal acts for which he is on trial.

Only about 1% of felony cases per year use the insanity defense and of those only about 30% are successful. One option open to the defense that you failed to mention is accepting a plea deal.

It is not up to YOU as to how MB should choose his defense. Your only motive to writing what you did was to impune his absolute, unresolvable guilt. And that’s a ruse. A misdirection. A lie.

Once MB got out of his car ANYTHING could have happened. The 2 witnesses to the event- let’s call them - LauBert- provided testimony that neither matched each other nor did it match the testimony of the “ear witness” famed in song and story.

And because of these indisputable facts, Balinkas and many observers believe others options either are available or should be available.

Barisone was not subject to an unprovoked, physical attack that threatened imminent injury or death.

We can’t know that. The only people who have testified as such lied and conveniently “turned off” their cameras before the incident.

We are quite literally getting only one side of the story. And it’s inconsistent among the 3 reporting parties.

We know the gun was fired 2 or 3 times. We know LK got shot and MB had the gun. Otherwise, we know nothing.

Maybe Brock is just an occasional clinician that they promote an association with?

Regardless… it’s so obvious that a lot of people have experienced DEEP personal pain while witnessing MB unraveling. It’s horrific.

Paradigm having a continuing relationship with LK? To me… in the long term… it doesn’t seem worth it. Even fair minded, professional people will think twice about associating with the program where she (LK) trains and keeps her horses. And I would imagine some clinicians would choose to just avoid their farm.

I haven’t read the article, but it is apparent from the Bronze Medal statement that it was written by someone who obviously doesn’t understand dressage AT ALL. LK apparently mentioned to the author that she (LK) has her Bronze Medal (or was close to getting it when she was shot - I can’t remember if she ever got it or not). And author assumed she meant an Olympic Bronze Medal, because that was the only type of Bronze Medal she (author) had heard of.

Clearly the reporter had no clue.

And somehow I doubt LK will ask them to issue a correction.

That scenario sounds very possible to me. Add into it the fact that the dad may have wanted her to relocate to a new neighborhood for whatever reason.
