No, it’s evidence of an unhealthy mental state. It’s a very common unhealthy dynamic that has been on display throughout the trial and on the forums. It’s very easy to spot when you aren’t too busy trying to deny it. That is why everyone keeps telling Seeker to get LK help.

Murder plots that don’t exist and secret recordings are common, repetitive features of paranoia. The repeated assertion of a murder plot, in the absence of related criminal charges, is libel.

You really should take your lead from the rational people connected to the case and they never once insinuated that there was a plot. This is direct evidence to the fact that this “plot” is the result of disordered and unhealthy thinking displayed by the whole family.

Something so vague as to be unrecognizable in the moment, and only after the fact, is direct evidence of the twisting to justify. She needs an excuse to absolve how her outrageous behavior and libelous claims were designed to break a man. It’s a distraction, to get people to ignore her bad behavior and to get out of being accountable. There is a reason why LK has never released these tapes. She certainly has no internal filter that makes me think she would have any hesitation in doing so……unless she knows they don’t say what she says they say.

You know. It really is amazing that you (a few of you) pick apart MB (elderly, depressed, delusional, divorced, cheater, money issues, young girl chaser, possible abuser, bad business man, etc) and yet you summarize LK as “problematic”.

This really speaks volumes.

Tarshis said he was a good business man. He was certainly successful in riding and training. He was competing at the apex of the sport and now sought by those who also wanted to do so.

Dealing with a lot of stress doesn’t negate that. Staying at the top in and of itself sounds stressful.

It depends on the barn. I get my own farrier. Some barns provide complete service and schedule the farrier for their clients. What was customary at MB’s barn?

You are correct and that has been one of the issues folks have with the program.

Something that irks me in the back of my head is that if they were more transparent, then we may see a lot more victim silencing and blaming, a lot more people reluctant to report (first or second hand), a lot more proactive shenanigans to avoid getting caught, etc.

I agree…all the more reason in my mind that Taylor was biased during the trial. Bias is a natural emotion. Being able to lock it away when a person’s future is on the line is paramount, particularly when one has the absolute power to control the trial. I don’t believe Taylor was successful hiding his bias.

Bilinkas took a lot of flack for doing everything he could to present his client’s defense when roadblock after roadblock was thrown in his way. Taylor gave a wonky excuse for denying self defense but in reality, had Taylor allowed it, I have confidence that would have been the verdict. I also recall Taylor talking firmly to Barisone about his decision to reject the plea deal. I appreciate he wanted to be sure Barisone was making his own decision and understood what he was gambling with. But his tone of voice was telling to me. For sure he is not fond of Bilinkas.

My husband is the one who watches the court shows. He fast-forwarded through the trial, but his verdict was “the judge is an @$$” - knowing nothing about any of the players because how can you summarise this quagmire in uner 5 minutes?!

This thread would have been a pretty sleepy one had not certain posters shown up apparently intent on drumming up age old debates. Personally, I am curious how this will all unfold with SS and the USEF, as that affects us all.

I am also curious. I have no affiliation or desire to be affiliated with anything that would subject me to SS. I’m also not sure I agree with how some elements of SS are implemented. It’s a waiting game, but I just don’t think it will be a credit to the organization to ban him after he was maliciously targeted by a student.

I think that was how someone interpreted my comment about aging issues of people in their 50s. Perhaps that is because that is the common age for men to seek prescriptions. However, I was more concerned about cognitive issues from back when it first came out. There’s been a lot of public media on problems of old athletes and military from related concussions and TBI combined with aging.

We had a kid in a barn once that had a couple of bad concussions and her doctor said no more. Her mom switched her from jumping to dressage and she was able to manage not to fall off. It was hard on her parents because she loved riding and they wondered if they should make her stop.

She is my enemy. And I call all things Apple “Siri” whether typed or spoken. She cannot even spell my trainer’s name right when I speak it out loud. And I type it every day.

What we know is that she didn’t leave within 24 hours of receiving the order to vacate, which was delivered on the 6th, not the 5th. What was the time period of the order to vacate? 30 days? 3 days?

If she was ordered on the 6th to vacate by 9th or 10th, we’ll never know whether or not she would have complied with the order because MB WAS INSANE and SHOT HER on the 7th.

According to Seeker1, they used the 3 day (disorderly) timeline. When they don’t leave at 3 days, it is filed at the court and they can be evicted in as little as 3 weeks if the court is available cause holds up.

The “order to vacate” was from the Fire Inspector, no?
You’re talking about the eviction notice, from SGF, which isn’t the same thing.

They sent evidence (photos) to the FM that they fixed the violation so they had a temporary release from vacate until an inspector could make it permanent.

I would hope any FM in this neighborhood would have his a$$ canned for taking photographic proof that whatever issues needed to be taken care of where done. Big nope. Eyes on proof should be the only acceptable method of evidence by someone in this position. Working in the construction end of things, anything else would be bullcrap.

The difference is everyone else on the property was afraid of LK doing something to put the horse and barn in danger. The only who claims to have been afraid that MB or staff would harm the horses is LK.

Who is more credible? The pathological liar or multiple reputable professionals?

You seem to think he went straight from VB to MHG. That would be an error.

MHG testified she started a relationship with MB in 2015. He and VK started their divorce in 2017. VK started her own business in April 2019.

Maybe you know of other girlfriends along the way but I just heard of one and a wife and they overlapped per the girlfriend/fiancé.

I think this is a sticky wait-and-see, but as far as past actions by SS in our realm (mostly in my discipline, it seems)… I stand behind them 100%. I anticipate more coming out in years to come based on things I witnessed or heard of in decades past. Time’s up! I also met with someone from a different sport in person pre-pandemic who used to comment here on SS-related threads. I was horrified that they (not an equestrian) knew about a lot of what I had heard and more. It’s a reckoning. As for what they do with this case? Uncharted waters. But I believe in SS and its mission.
