Barisone Trial Starting Monday, 3/28

I think the judge is trying to do his job. The appellate process, if this goes to appeal, is another place where he can be reprimanded, and publiclly, by other judges for making bad decisions. Judges do take that seriously.

He may not like Bilinkas, OR he may have been overcompensating because HE was blaming the victim too! It’s hard to say.

I believe this judge had a big appellate issue previously involving a defendant Bilinkas represented?

I think it was this case - and Bilinkas was her attorney. I might be wrong though.

Anyway - her sentence ended up being reduced from 30 to 20 years…

Did you find us from the Law & Crime side chat that I saw down the side of the screen for the first few days? If so, do you know if that chat is often closed down by request of the judge, or if this was a rare thing? Thanks in advance.

Omg. The evolution of comments in the first screenshot is the perfect illustration of why I don’t spend much time on Twitter! Lol.

Thanks for posting it!!

How interesting it has been with @Inigo-montoya being so silent about this trial. I could be wrong but didn’t he tell us there would be surprises coupled with Lauren’s “all things will be revealed”? Sad that Judge Taylor prevented a great part of the evidence from being introduced. I’d actually like to hear his thoughts at this point in the trial…I suspect most of us know exactly what he would say.

If IM posts I’ll make the pornstachio ice cream for the board to enjoy as they read along (or catch up).

It will need a catchy in-house brand name.

Go.

yes that could be, I guess there is confusion if she knew about his mental state or not since it was mentioned he was supposedly in that state for a while.

I mean, I can understand why someone would give someone a gun if they felt their friend was truly scared for their life. Its just sad.

I’ve heard about this Sharp Objects…want to check it out. Have you seen the miniseries?

Cruel. Reminds me of someone else…

Yup. The miniseries was good, but not even REMOTELY as good as the book.

All of Gillian Flynn’s books are pretty short, fast reads… INTENSE.

I highly recommend! Definitely read the book before watching the miniseries:-)

I found this forum when searching for info & glad I did even though I am not part of the horse community other than my step daughter( Pre Vet at Rutgers & graduates next year YAY!) use to take riding lessons somewhere here in NJ…which, by the way, she’s looking to lease a horse if anyone can guide me in the right direction.
As for the chat on L&C being closed for the MB trial, I have never seen this happen in the past & I’ve watch many trials on their channel…so it was a shock to everyone in the chat…we actually thought it was an April Fools joke since it happened on April 1st. During other trials, people in the chats have been far worse than they were in this trial…I would love to know WHO made the complaint to the judge!!! L&C caved & I have lost all respect for them.

post this in the new thread if you can…needs to be seen

Let’s redirect the trial discussion to the new thread that was started on the topic. That may help speed the site back up if this one is bogging it down.
