The witness is describing his own viewing of the scene; the diagram was not produced by him and thus he is agreeing that his gravel pile and the crime scene analysts gravel pile are the same gravel pile. It’s not a given in this context.
I know, it was just amusing.
Testimony of Cpl. Haymer so far:
Dispatched to active shooter. Was first on scene. 250 feet down driveway is white house on the left, then a hillcrest, then a barn at the back. Aerial map of property introduced.
Unholstered while still driving in. Saw older white male casually walking and speaking on phone near hillcrest. As ofc continued driving, man walked away out of view toward the barns.
Heard somebody yell “help” from his left side. Parked and got out of car. Could not see anyone. Saw a parked silver Ram pickup truck. As he reached the front of the truck, which was empty, he saw rear of house. Female (LK) lying on back near patio. Two males (MB and RG), one on top of the other. Ofc was about 20 feet from people and they were 2-3 feet from each other.
Yelled, “Where’s the shooter?” RG replied, “Here,” and shook MB by his shoulders.
Told RG to get off MB. RG grabbed dog and moved to ofc’s left. Ofc went to MB and asked where gun was. RG said something about it being underneath MB. Ofc rolled MB over and found black and pink handgun. Picked up gun and ejected the magazine, threw the gun to his left near a gravel pile, and threw the magazine to his right. There were no rounds in the chamber. The slide was locked back. Checked MB for other weapons.
Ofc Wurtenberg (sp?) arrived and Haymer asked him for chest seals. When he returned with them, they handcuffed MB then did first aid on LK. A few other officers arrived and helped.
MB received some medical treatment on scene. He had blood on his face and a laceration on his forehead. Unsure if RG was treated.
Gun and magazine introduced into evidence.
And now I have to leave, which sucks because this is pretty interesting so far.
The 911 call audio is playing, very distorted. RG is dropping F-bombs repeatedly.
Who is he yelling at to ‘get that F’ing dog back inside’?
makes sense why the dog was going mental, hes holding MB down after all that happened. This is crazy intense
Not sure. Perhaps Lauren or someone on the staff who came after the shots were fired.
Isn’t LK currently shot at this point?
Shockingly, he looks better than he did this morning.
She made the phone call without incident or difficulty and RG stepped in to take over with the dispatcher. It’s possible to function relatively normally for a short period of time after being shot, before shock really sets in, especially when adrenaline is involved.
But at that time would you really be expecting someone who has been shot twice to be chasing after a dog?
WAIT - This was the Officer on scene yelling and dropping the f’bombs? I thought the call was RG.
ETA - if this was the officer, then he was yelling at RG to put the dog away…
Maybe this camera is what RG and JK retrieved the next day when they went rushing back to the farm. REASONABLE DOUBT.
How convenient it was stated in the last thread that the recorder didn’t record that day.
I don’t believe a word of what two posters have said for months.
RG was apparently dropping F-bombs on the call audio, as did the officer after he arrived, to confront MB.
yeah that was surprising when the officer said it was him!
So from the description that RG gave 9-1-1, was it enough for the officer to be able to identify the shooter 100% when he arrived?
“How convenient it was stated in the last thread that the recorder didn’t record that day.”
Especially since RG told the officer it was recording.
And now we just heard that the shirt on the ground was ‘the shirt Barisone was wearing when the officer arrived on scene’…
Dispatchers often don’t pass a lot of things on to officers when a call goes out and we don’t know what the dispatcher put out because that audio was not admitted into evidence, so we can’t say what the officer was told before arriving.
Bold section, MB or RG moved dog?
