In both scenarios, it would suggest MB went down there prepared to shoot. Not a good thing for him.
The prosecutor just said something to LK like, “I’m not going to ask you about every Facebook post you’ve ever posted.”
I’ll bet he’s not! Thank goodness.
I wonder if we’ll hear testimony later where contracts were forged? Maybe that ties in with how it was alleged that JK threatened MB to live at the house referred to in the police lawsuit….
Again, it’s remarkable how easily she seems to be able to hear and respond to every word the prosecutor says.
So, how is Schellhorn going to explain away Girl Joey’s texts received from LK, if GirlJoey is a witness?
Lunch break!!!
She would know what questions he will be asking her, vs not knowing the defense.
Not saying that there aren’t possible theatrics at play here
Lunch break now until 1:30.
Wow. That was a lot.
How would you know??? No forensics done which is just unbelieveable and goes towards reasonable doubt
Nor was it testified to by the prosecution.
Maybe it’s just me but man does that house look TRASHED on the outside. Bushes unkempt, trash and chairs and junk everywhere, cigarette butts on the ground…
Just… yuck.
I didn’t listen, but maybe because it’s the prosecution’s witness? Generally you’re allowed a lot more leeway with your case in chief than on cross.
Edited to add: I do not envy this judge having to ride heard on this trial. He’s earning his pay this month!
Eh, I can kind of understand that. She has clearly met with the prosecutor before and knows that he is on her side, while Bilinkas’ whole job is to discredit her. It’s got to be way more stressful answering Bilinkas’ questions than Shellhorn’s.
I actually think she should be saying “I don’t know” more often than she is - she seems to be making things up as she goes along when she clearly doesn’t remember. Having said that, I think she’s also making up stuff when she does know the answer but also knows the answer is going to look bad for her.
She’s also answering questions that aren’t even being asked. It’s a complete mess.
Circling back to the testimony this morning about the time LK went face to face with MB in the driveway and pretty much chased him back to his truck and then wouldn’t let him get in his truck to leave, or something like that.
Once again, I wonder how many members of the (mostly male) jury will have that description ring a bell for them in their own memories.
OK, I have this thing called work, so haven’t had the time to watch the trial or sift through a few thousand posts. I have one question: Has LK been asked why she didn’t just leave MB’s barn/property if she was unhappy?
Ok…remember the 2 gun post, that was written within days of the shooting….and the I’ll let you punch me in the face twice part.
If I recall, IM made a big deal about having a recording where MHG’s son told her “he’d punch her in the face for her”….
I’m still not buying this explanation but we’ll never know for sure. Bilinkas can’t prove this theory without MB’s testimony, so there’s no way (at this point) to say he didn’t go down there prepared to shoot someone.
Her main answer seemed to be that it was difficult to find a suitable place to take her horses on short notice.
However, further discussion under oath disclosed that the situation had been getting ugly for some time. Not just a few days.
Plus she said under oath that she had still been planning to go to the horse show at Saugerties with MB the following week. Which does not sound like somebody who was trying very hard to leave the situation, to me.
It is the brain that remembers things, and it is in the head. MB suffered physical trauma to his head, so I can see where he may have suffered enough brain damage from the beating to not remember the episode. LK, OTOH, did not suffer physical trauma to her head, so I would certainly expect her to have a better memory of the events. So all her “I don’t recall, I may have, I could have” strikes me as her desperately trying to figure out how to squirm out of being caught lying under oath.
