Barisone Trial Starting Monday, 3/28

I don’t know NJ but in my state a cop saying that would be wrong.

I have been at several barns in NJ where the trainer did not have me sign a liability waiver.

I wonder if it will be explained further in the trial.

Wasn’t it told that the waver issue was for someone(s) that LK wanted to come to the farm (for what? To train her/ride her horses) and also live there?

Does NJ recognize the legality of the signs that some barns post that “you” just being there accept the inherent risk of horses and riding?

Probably. When Defense goes to cross exam that testifying cop.

I think I remember that too. No trainer I know would agree to that at a barn they owned or managed.

I seem to recall being ridiculed over the idea that the gun was put into the safe after RC gave MB the gun. Who did that?….hmm, JQ and LK….

Bilinkas seemed like a complete disaster today. I almost feel sorry for whoever is paying the bill.

I’m curious how many trials like this have you watched? You seem to not understand how trials actually work and that the defense has scheduled at least two weeks to present all their findings. That “missing” camera is going to be an issue for the police department and the prosecution. Something tells me there is much more to come.

Do we know what time the trial starts tomorrow? And will it continue to be available to watch on Law & Crime?

WTaF with the rustling of papers right into the microphone??? That is not the good kind of ASMR.

Barisone looks like a completely different man. He looks like he’s completely checked out mentally and terrified of looking anywhere but the table. Is that his normal posture and demeanor? I’ve only ever seen him on TV, so can’t say what he looks like outside of riding.

Agree. I was surprised. At this point, MB’s best defense will be a retrial from inadequate counsel. Why? Defense counsel presented as defense tacky gossip on social media.

Well of course a self admitted MB fan would see Bilinkis’ performance as genius, but he did some really serious bumbling, had more than a few way too pregnant pauses where he had no idea what to say, and he didn’t bother even trying to make a point at the end of his questioning. I was embarrassed for him. I expect he’ll do better when it’s his witnesses on the stand, since he has probably (hopefully) been practicing with them and won’t have to think on his feet.

It sounded to me like the security was only there at night. Is that correct? And it sounded like Barisone was still up at all hours checking on the property during the night anyway.

I wonder if it would have been any better to have security around the clock, if only for his mental state. Of course, hindsight is 20/20.

Sincere question from someone not watching - why? What did he do that makes you think he is a complete disaster?

Show me where I’ve ever said this please.

Also, did anybody else notice that the second cop on the scene had a last name that sounded very similar to the Wurttemberg, which I think is a relatively unusual breed of horse? At least, I’ve only known a few of them in a lifetime around horses.

Clearly they missed your post from about an hour ago. (which says just the opposite)
I have copied it here for them to read.
