Barisone Trial Starting Monday, 3/28

Here you go:

So, that makes you an LK fan. Right?

I don’t get the point of this line of ridiculous posts (though I guess I am not helping by not simply ignoring it). Talk about the trial. Stop bashing each other.
@eggbutt explained their stance. I quoted it for you above.

Please answer my question above (@RND) . I am not watching the trial and I want to understand your post about the bumbling lawyer.

Edit to add: you quoted your other post while I was typing. I thought there was more to it than that.

I have expressed my opinion many times that neither LK or MB seem to be upstanding humans. I have never seen eggbutt show anything but contempt for LK and total, undying support for MB.

Well, he did annoy the hell out of the judge more than a few times. So I guess that counts as “more”.

Interesting tactic.
Hadn’t someone hinted at setting the place on fire?
I’d think animals locked in a barn would be in peril in that situation.

I believe you. Even though your posts imply otherwise. But I do believe you. Maybe try to believe the rest of the crowd that they too are being honest. I think it makes sense that @eggbutt simply does not like LK. That most certainly does not mean Eggbutt is a MB fan.

From what I have read here, that appears to be the relationship between that judge and that lawyer, like long term.

Yeah,Taylor did appear to favor the prosecution, didn’t he? Perfect grounds for appeal if necessary. You fail to realize the jurors are impartial and have no favorites at this point. Taylor can push back too frequently, Schellhorn can keep lobbing softballs since he knows how the scene was bungled, and Bilinski must cross examine and get facts out that Taylor doesn’t object to (hence the deliberate time to form the right question).

Surely you are aware Taylor and Bilinkas have extensive history aren’t you?

Balinkas did an excellent opening statement. There are so many places to grow doubt. I was actually impressed.

The prosecution seemed a bit weak. As did some of police procedure according to the testimony of the cops.

I wonder if these waivers are the supposed ‘new agreement’ (something to that effect) that LK noted as ridiculous and refused to sign?

Yes…there are still some very wide holes to be explored…

I do believe those papers were supposed to be mind-blowing and “heinous” as well….

I’ve definitely seen many farms where everyone is required to sign a liability waiver. But I have not spent that much time in New Jersey, so I don’t know if that is standard practice there.

I thought the same. They definitely haven’t read any Chronicle posts.

One mentioned looking at LK’s Instagram account and said she “looked like a mean one”…
Several said they suffered from PTSD and it looked like MB was having a real panic attack. The comments were definitely all over the map.

In a bad way?

Or just as people who have crossed paths in a court room many times over the years?

Court cases resulting in appeals.

I’m genuinely curious about the places to grow doubt and the very wide holes to be explored - can you share details about what you mean?

I think Bilinkas’ line of questioning for the first officer, where he was asking if RG saw LK get shot (the officer was not allowed to answer, but it seems clear it will come up later), he must be trying to make it seem possible that either LK or RG also had a deadly weapon. I think he’s going to have to convince the jury of that to get the self defense theory to stick. I read that for self defense in NJ, deadly force is justifiable only if the defendant thinks he could be killed or seriously injured, and you can’t escalate the violence, like using a gun to protect yourself if the other person is hitting you with a cell phone. I just don’t see how he is going to do this since MB doesn’t remember anything between the time CPS was at the farm and when he was in the hospital. Unless there is an additional witness that we just don’t know about? It will be interesting for sure.

The insanity plea seems like a tough choice so the evidence presented to prove that will be interesting too.

One of the legal analysts commenting on the trial for Law & Crime said so far he feels the evidence is supporting a claim of self defense. Of course, this is the first day.

Schellhorn doesn’t have a lot to work with, does he?

In the interest of having watchers, no, I think I’ll leave it open.

Which evidence was that?
