Barisone Trial Starting Monday, 3/28

Well, as none of my horses have ever been turned into steaks and no cat or dog stews were ever prepared, I will go with “not meant literally”. Nor were my children left on the side of a road, or ejected through the non-existent sunroof of my vehicle when squabbling and driving me nuts.

The guest from the Innocence Project on the L&C Network said he thought the defense attorney should have been allowed to ask question to MH

Some posters had already decided their verdict on the opening statements LOL I turly hope the jury takes their job seriously here!

If I heard correctly, the text started by him saying that if a horse was tyring to intimidate him and did not respect boundaries he would beat his ass. I am paraphrasing but that is the context of the text.

I’m assuming that was entered to counter the defense suggesting that LK and RG intimidated MB.

And to be fair, some people will say they will beat their horses butt and never actually do that. I tell my dog to get inside or I will beat her all the time. I realized how that might sound to someone who doesn’t know me, so now I tell her I will beat her with kisses which is the reality of her life lol

Defense attorneys (or their investigators) can try to talk to prosecution witnesses before the trial, but they can’t compel the witnesses to answer, except in a jurisdiction that allows for criminal depositions (uncommon). Did you not see where he state he has done this before and it has been very effective?
MB about abusing horses, “ Funny, it’s been working perfectly a long long time.”
Edited to add quote.

He might still.

Yes, he has several people there. No comment on who would be there for LK.

I have no doubt every single trainer/barn owner we ever encounter has that technique down pat in some manner.

As if you side with this nonsense. I ride with and FEI/Olympian and she would neverrrrrrr.

We are talking about riding, not a horse trying to kill you or kick your head off.

Amazing the leaps and gymnastics you can do to make that text seem not bad or something.

What a side to choose.

On many Facebook groups and forums, I am appalled at the way people refer to their horses, anthropomorphic, calling them a jerk/a-hole/twat/… Doesn’t mean the person actually dislikes their horse.
But I still don’t like it.

The last trainer I was working for a few years ago was injured and older, had limited mobility in an arm and in her ability to walk, and she was (maybe understandably) very defensive and (sadly) had a “get them before they get you” attitude.

I’ll say this…I think the defense has gotten a pretty good look at the prosecution’s arguments the last 2 years. I don’t think I’ve actually heard anything that hasn’t already been brought up and discussed here first.

No

But they can speak to them which is what I said.

I refer to that movie because when Pesci speaks to them it’s at their homes so not even under oath. They chose to speak to him. I imagine so will MHG especially given LKs intent to have ejected from dressage via SS.

Yeah lots of people have made environments rough so people leave. Happens every day in the job world.

But nice try.

Fascinating that the focus on this thread now is the text about the horse or just lock him up and toss the key without hearing anything from the defense.

Before I get jumped on, I am very focused on every word to see if anything can shine a light on why MB did not do everything he could to protect himself, including the day of the shooting in particular.

Yeah I said 95%. I’m glad you’re with that 5%. I try to be too.

700+ pages sent to SS to add to the files of others who have reported LK and still nothing has been done. What a disgrace.
