Possibly because it was an article about Barisone and not Kanarek. So why taint an otherwise great article?

I have now heard this case profiled on at least 2 podcasts as well as 48 Hours. I don’t think it is leaving true-crime interest any time soon.
The details are so convoluted over such a prolonged period of time, no two accounts seem to agree on every point. Oh well, that’s to be expected I suppose.
But so far the podcasts looked more at the social media part of the story, and were sympathetic to Barisone.
