If he was plotting murder with other people, either all of them were insane or none of them were.
It was my understanding that the recordings were not from the day before the shooting, but in the weeks leading up to it.
If the recordings were a murder plot, the state might have gone for first degree attempted murder as such tapes would expose premeditation.

No, at least I don’t know.

He certainly could have refused to let her into the facility in April 2019 if she refused to sign a waiver. If he didn’t require the waiver as a condition of entry, I wonder what the consequence of her refusing to sign one in August would be. Could he say, on August 3 or whatever, you must vacate, or would having allowed her for months without the waiver mean he still needed to give her 30 days notice to leave?

I just don’t see the purpose of asking her to sign a waiver in the first week of August if he was already determined to get her out. I also don’t see why she would refuse to sign a garden variety waiver. That’s why I’m still curious as to what was on that piece of paper.

Get real. She would have simply flounced her way in anyway and announced, “Here I am. What are you going to do about it?”

And didn’t she post that she complained (was it to the DA’s office?) that he (MB) had told her she wasn’t allowed in the barn anymore? And the person in the DA’s office said, “He can’t do that.”

Nope, no way Ms. Lollipop would have meekly agreed to go elsewhere if he had tried to tell her in April she wasn’t welcome there.

As for why he asked for the waiver in August - perhaps his attorney advised him to get the waiver, knowing that since she wasn’t going to go willingly, it might take some time (i.e., 30 days, etc.) to get her out. (And God knows what kind of scheme she could have cooked up in that timeframe…)

Thanks @FitzE, @MorganSercu, @trubandloki and others for sticking up for me. The visciousness quite shocking… and I must admit, did give me anxiety. I need to activate my own internal “ignore” function moving forward. I don’t use the board’s ignore, because I enjoy hearing from all sides in all things. It helps me understand the world.

As for my mental health, yes, I have been open about suffering from anxiety and depression. And I have been honest about how others can exacerbate existing issues. Seems a bit odd that some people like to weaponize that. To each their own… Luckily I am in a good place now and I get to go ride my horse today and rid myself of any lingering bad juju!

The one particular post I was referring to was the first Shelly one. Thanks for finding it. It is inarticulate and muddled, and does not establish that she heard the audios.

I agree the second Shelly post, which I had not seen before, does clearly assert that she’s heard the audios.

I want to call this out as well. The screenshot that this is referring to is my screenshot. It is all one block, so both claims about the recordings are there; if you saw one, but not the other, then you were not looking very hard.

Actually if those recordings did in fact have MB discussing her murder, they would have found their way into the trial. They would have proved he had planned the murder, with accomplices (per LK posts) and thus the insanity aspect would have been taken off the table.

The prosecutor said that for attempted murder, it was not necessary to establish premeditation; a sudden impulse to attack with deadly force was enough. So they did not need audio recordings of a “murder plot”.

If he was judged to be insane at the time of the shooting, I don’t see how any audio tapes from the previous days would “take that off the table”.

A recording may have convinced jurors of intent and as it turned out they did not see intent. Intent isn’t necessary for premeditated but it sure as heck would have shown a lack of sudden insanity.

Depression is really quite common, especially among women. Even if an anonymous poster has not “shared”
their personal history on a public BB, addressing another poster with mockery, ascribing motives to them, and insulting their intelligence may well land on a person with challenges as significant as your own.

Speaking of conspiracy theories……remember when we (general) went on about RG putting Rosie in the house after the shooting?

When I went back and watched some of RG’s testimony, Mr.Schellhorn asked him several questions about that and also the second (I think) cop on the scene who was asked point blank if RG was ever out of his sight while Rosie was put in the house. His answer was…no.

Would this have been something the prosecution thought up themselves to clear up, or are they possibly reading here?

LOL, I don’t hate Lauren Kanarek anymore than I hate you. I don’t know her. I can, at the same time, dissect her behavior and her own words and discuss the events testified to in court.

You know, there are whole pockets of the internet, and multiple books written trying to figure out why Chris Watts annihilated his family. I bring this case up because his wife lived her life on SM. People have spent years dissecting every word of every post or video. And quite frankly, there are some nut jobs that think Shanann Watts brought it on herself. That group of nut jobs makes this group look so happy, butterflies, peace and kindness.

When things happen that don’t make sense, people try to make it make sense. When people give you volumes of info to look for meaning, well, people look. It doesn’t make anyone awful. There’s a reason crime blogs and tv shows and channels and podcasts and YouTubers etc keep gaining popularity. Because we all want someone to make it make sense, and maybe help us protect or insulate ourselves, or find peace with similar situations in our own lives.

Equkelly had issues and I genuinely hope that she is doing better post ban. It was more than a “FFS” that got her banned. I never tried to rile her, but tried to engage in discussion and she was so rude and carried around a giant chip on her shoulder, never mind stating how much she disliked COTH in every other post. I really don’t think there was a conspiracy there. The mods read her posts and banned her accordingly. No secret squirrel stuff.

Getting flagged isn’t the end of the world and people will flag “non flaggable” stuff all the time. However, it is smart that you do not let attacks (whatever your definition of that may be) provoke you into saying things in heat. Granted, we are all still responsible for what we say, in heat or not.

I’m not so offended by theories being discussed, but some of them are truly whack.

I agree with all of that ^. I do find the “suggestion” that there is/was some kind of coordinated conspiracy (a cabal of sorts) to flag/get rid of Equkelly or anyone else… to be ridiculous paranoia.

Equkelly had some extreme meltdowns in other threads/forums as well. It was not just for using FFS (there - I did it) or simply disagreeing with others in these threads as has been implied…

This is why I would love to see the transcript/video of the interview RG did with the police the night of the shooting. I think, based on how Mr B was trying to get into that, he might have said something in that first interview.

Of course, when RG was presented with the transcript on cross, and asked if it refreshed his memory, about something else, he steadfastly said no, so Judge T told him to move on.
