LK would have to be really crazy to keep pushing forward for a civil trial now. I think the PI report, social media, drug use, and all sorts of other stuff would be admissible here right?

I could totally see a jury awarding counter damages, on top of how badly it would further damage the reputation of the family.

But if she lives off a trust or conservator ship doled out by her dad… What can one get from suing her?
I hope all parties involved in this campaign to ruin this man are held accountable.
I hope that the Morris pd is sued, because when something like this costs the municipality that is what makes change. Their craptastic investigation and preservation of evidence in this case needs to be impetus for them learning and doing better.

So much ridiculous analysis about what is next. It’s clear…he’ll have an eval from the state psychs which takes 30 days, and the next hearing is May 17, 9 am, closed to media, if the report is ready.

There appears to be a fundamental confusion from some posters as to what the meaning of “not guilty due to reason of insanity” is.

It is an acquittal and the purpose of the detention in a mental health facility is to heal and rehabilitate where possible not as an alternative to incarceration.

It is not the same thing as “guilty but insane.”

Interesting that you would somehow know that “nobody is settling with LK”.

Uh, maybe because there is ample evidence that LK caused the mental decline? Face it, this was a loss for LK and her narrative and a win for MB.

How did I miss this today? I checked all day; maybe I was checking the wrong video.

I’m so relieved for him for this outcome. To see him in this state…so heartbreaking. And his lawyers were so emotional as well.

It’s difficult to envision him returning to his former life after this. I hope he can at least be involved in the horse world in some way.

As for LK, now the rest of the world will know just how evil she is. The horse community is tight knit and small; I doubt she’ll be welcomed with open arms in the future.

I would not be surprised if the insurance company that provides liability coverage for SGF will attempt to settle with LK, now that the criminal case has resulted in the finding of fact that MB did shoot LK, almost killing her

LK is blowing up on Facebook right now. Her extended family members are out trying to do damage control and convince people that she’s not the person that pretty much everyone thinks she is after the trial and verdict.
