Does anyone know if this stallion is available in North America? And more importantly, does his frozen work?
No idea about the frozen but I can tell you the fresh works very well. We’ve got 3 o/o 3 and the semen looked excellent under microscope as well
Kareen, do you have any thoughts on what type of mare he would cross best with? He’s quite big right?
I’m have this major B-line obsession, and I’m very interested in both him and Breitling W.
I’ve already got one mare in foal to Belissimo M and will breed another one to him next year, but I’m looking for alternative B-line stallions.
I spoke to Axel about it this summer. If enough interested, I could perhaps arrange for a shipment? but need to know NOW as he would need to be prepped for frozen…
I think Judy Y had some his first year, so she would be the one to ask about pregnancies, as she sold quite a few doses I seem to remember.
My mare is in foal to him for a late May foal. My friend has a weanling by him and her mare took on one dose of frozen as did my mare. Her filly Bella Rouge is very lovely, ending up first among GOV fillies this year (2009).
So it seems that his frozen semen is very good. We bought our doses from Judy Yancey the first year he was available here in the US.
What are the temperments in the foals he has had so far? Would it be okay to breed him to a sensitive - not hot mare?
My friend’s filly has a great people friendly personality. Her dam was on the sensitive side. Bella was very well behaved at the two breed shows we took her to.
The one that was born on our farm last April is totally cool and very self-confident. Clever and extremely brave (as in unspooky), she will go anywhere.
This is her:

Kareen - I’m drooling. What an enchanting filly, in every way!!
Kareen, I’m drooling too, not only over the foal but over that mare!
Ditto on the drolling. Yummy.
Thank you guys but the credit is due to Bonne Chance’s owner in Ga. Had I known she would stay with us for this long I would have leased her for the 2009 season but she was scheduled to leave this fall which for some reason didn’t work out…
Anyways. We love the filly and I certainly wouldn’t mind keeping those two around for another while
Kareen, all I can say is WOW! What a beautiful filly.
Bennetton is a “dream” to me. I just love him.
Benetton Dream has a super temperament & frozen semen is available in the US
His semen quality is very good & he has some foals conceived by this already born in the US. There are 2 agents for him

There are photos & video clips of some of his first foals here

I have my two mares in foal to him and after seeing Kareen’s result can not await that. Both are due beginning of April. One I crossed to him because I am hoping of a bit more size and freedom of shoulder and the other one I wanted something with great relaxed walk and overall nice attitude as she can be a bit tense in certain circumstances. Those two or three/four things I hope he is improving after seeing and hearing about foals.
So I hopefully will have
BD out of SPA Florencio - Prince Thatch xx
and BD out of Sandro hit - Rouletto
Is there an agent in Canada?? That would be great.
Spike,
I think Doug at Rideauwood Farms looked into getting some into Canada, but he would need to order at least 25 doses. I would be interested in probably 2 doses. Any other Canadians interested? Maybe we could drum up enough interest to make the 25 dose minimum.

my benetton dream colt moved to his new home the other day and behaved exactly how i expected him: ignoring all the trouble and rolling in the sand instead while everyone else was still excited by all those new impressions…

I’d go for 2 doses if Doug brought some to Canada.
Me too, depending on the final price but if it’s similar than the price of SES and A-1 (i.e. under 1k/dose), it’s a go.
