I’m tired of my Hunter boots breaking every season 
I’m looking for recommendations of quality barn boots that slip on and off easily, are water proof, and will last more than just one season. Any ideas?
Hunters are a rain/ fashion boot so I wouldn’t expect them to hold up to barn work. Lots of other muck brands to try- Noble Outfitters, Genuine Muck Co, Bogs, and then some of the country boots may work too - like Dublins, Ariat, Ovation, Tuffrider. Lots of options to check out.
Muck boots & Bogs are what I use here in Montana. My feet stay toasty & dry.

I’ve gone to waterproof hiking shoes, bought from Sierra Trading Co. I like the support, and they’re made to walk all day in, so they’re comfortable. I get low (normal running shoe) height, and they’re easy to slip on and off. I don’t ride in them.
My current favorite brand is Ahnu, because they are really waterproof, not just resistant. I can slog around in wet grass and shallow puddles and my feet are completely dry.
For winter I go to Snow Sneakers from LLBean. Insulated, waterproof hiking shoes. I live in them all winter; warm but not heavy like boots.
*PSA - I live in the south, our coldest nights here are generally upper 20s F, “winter” days range from 40s to 70 F.
I really like the Mudruckers- I have both the tall and short versions.
I was always a devotee of Muck Boots, but I recently switched to LaCrosse boots for my latest pair, and I love them. I have the Alpha Range, which are perfect for Virginia winters. They also have the Alpha Thermal if you are in a northern clime.

Do you need a boot? I use Merrell mocs (or other brands with a similar style, my last ones were Colombia.) Just make sure they’re the waterproof style.
Both my muck boots and the bogs only lasted one season with pretty light winter use :-/
I’m on my second pair of Bogs tall boots in 4-5 years and they get lots of abuse at the barn, cleaning stalls etc.
I love them, my feet stay toasty dry, I can walk into ankle-deep muck, AND I can ride in them.
I got my second pair on sale, too, so I don’t feel too bad to have to replace the 1st pair after 3 years or so.
I only switch to my Ariat Terrain H20 once the ground is definitely frozen and I don’t have to step in deep slush or muck.
I’ve heard good things about Muck boots, too.

What about Noble Outfitters? They have a tall, waterproof, warm boot that are as comfortable as slippers! I only recently got mine (and love them) on recommendations from 2 friends who own the tall and shorter versions and wear them regularly. Their boots have held up very well for over a year.
I would never ride in Bogs - the toe box is way too big. After getting hung up in a pair of boots once (thank god my saintly gelding didn’t kill me), I’m paranoid about toe box size.
I guess if you got gigantic stirrups for winter use, that might work, too.
I have small stirrups - and very small feet 
no worries of getting hung up. I ride in them all the time in the winter.

I have small feet as well. Winter boots (and these were dedicated winter riding boots, not the super thick/bulky Bogs) and summer width 4.25" stirrups don’t mix.

I have a pair of Noble Outfitters that I’m OBSESSED with. I sized up but they still fit perfectly and are the most comfortable pair of boots I own.
I paid around $100 but they’re on sale at a lot of places right now! There are a few different colors it seems, mine are black with a dark plaid.

I flippin LOVE my Noble Outfitters COLD boots! Sadly my pair sprung a hole after 3 years so I’m working in a pair of Bogs that are fine but not my NOs. Maybe Santa will bring me some…

I need new talls, only have irrigation boots in tall, not very warm and it looks like we may have a winter with plenty of snow to slush thru.
I have the mids in original Muck Boot ones and those are great also, just not for tall snow drifts.

All rubber boots sooner or later develop leaks.
We used to just put a car inner tube patch with rubber cement glue in any hole or crack and kept using them.
Some times by when we tossed them away, there may be half a dozen tire patches in them.
I wonder if that would work in today’s rubber boots?

I bought these Kamiks last year and love them. They’re warm already, but wide enough that I can wear thicker wool socks on the really cold days out here in the PNW. Previous pairs of Kamiks have held up extremely well, too. I also like that they stock small men’s sizes, which means I can order a size 5 in them and have it fit my size 7 foot, for less than a pair of women’s boots. Oh, capitalism…
You will not be disappointed! I wear these 100% of the time now. I’m buying a second pair of the red ones now!

I’m on my second pair of N.O.'s, first pair got a slit at the spur rest/boot jack knob after 2 or so years. Like them but definitely do not pay full price!
