Best full seat breeches?
I’ve always ridden in Horka, and they are pretty reasonably priced, middle of the road, with better quality.
another vote for Horka. And the equine fashion and tack is great to work with

Equissentials!!!

I have several of these and absolutely love them!
I have full seat and the extended leg. Both styles are wonderful and best of all these breeches are ALWAYS comfortable and last and last. They also will recycle the deerskin if you need to have another pair made but so far I haven’t had to do that. Just love these breeches!!!

Good to know that people who love their Irideons also like FITS. They are next on my list. BTW, I have Equissentials and do NOT like them. The fabric reminds me of sweat pants…although I love the deerskin. For those of you who mentioned the Irideons, how does the sizing compare in the FITS??
I love my FITS! I have been slowly replacing all my breeches with FITS. They are pricey, but deals can be found if you keep your eyes open. I’ve gotten most of mine on eBay, new for a fraction of the regular price.

As for the size, I wear a Medium in Irideon and FITS.

I have Kerrits that I love, old ones with the suede full seat (when they first came out). They fit my fluffy thighs. The ribbed material hides various… unevenness. What I especially like is that they are NOT cotton. I find cotton unbearable here in Florida’s humidity.
But the Kerrits are a bit too see through for me…

ANy suggestions for another brand of full seats that are NOT cotton? (that fit fluffy thighs and calves and that come in white for shows… )??

Thanks

Whatever the breeches, they have to have pockets. I have a couple of Tropical Riders and other pull-ons but I prefer my old Riding Sports and Kentuckys (which BTW wear like iron) over the TR w/o pockets.

Just picked up a pair of Kerrits…they are sort of a polyester material with pockets on each leg and the full seat is rubbery…you certainly do STICK!

Breathe Tight II

Try the new Kerrits Breathe Tight II, they are my current favorite to ride in everyday. They have just enough tackiness!!

I’m similar height but weigh about 10 lb more. My favorites are the microfiber Eurostars, although you usually need to order from Germany, and more recently the Tropical Rider X2’s. Very flattering and breathable. I have a pair of Kerrits that are fine but are not so durable.

I just ordered some Ovation Euroweave’s with the SuperStick seats…Can’t wait to get them! I’d love to get some FITS but it’s just not in the budget.

Hey, is the Ovation SuperStick seat more like a “pleather” type fabric, or more of a rubberized bumps gripper type? I saw a few different pictures and just couldn’t tell. Either way, I wanted something with a little more “schtick” than Clarino!!

All my breeches are Irideon. I tried FITS but non of them fit me (tack shop only had the pull-ons in the store). I’m 5’6" and quite average (wear a small tall or medium Irideon). In the size I should have been able to wear, I couldn’t get over my -small- hips and they were too short. Next size up was too baggy in the seat area, and from the knee down. FITS recommend trying their others but I’ve never been able to do non-pull-ons (never fit me right) and I wasn’t going to order two pairs and then have to return at least one.

Does anyone know if you can have the FITS re-seated as well? I know you can the equissentials but I’ve literally ridden the butt off both my FITS and my Tropical riders. I am thinking I might have to have a seamstress just put a doeskin patch on there :(. I still love them, but the leather has just worn to nothing on the inner thigh. They are 3 years old, btw.

I’ve heard of having the seats put on new fabric, for about half the price of new breeches, but never having new seats put on old fabric. I think most of the cost is in the seats for the leather/deerskin.

Just wait until Tropical Rider has a 50% off sale and get some new ones!

But they’re only 3 years old! And especially the FITS - since they’re segmented, and it’s only a ocuple of the segments that are worn, I think that perhaps I could get a couple of new ones slapped on there :). I am, apparently, hard on breeches.
