Have two french saddles to sell. Suggestions? Not interested in using FB and not interested in Ebay. Thanks
Haven’t sold saddles through them, but did a trial through DFW Tack Exchange, and did a trial and purchase through Redwood Tack. Both were great to deal with.
I’ve bought from DFW and never had a problem. Redwood looks good but I’ve not bought yet.
Sold through Old Dominion twice and bought and sold through MDTackExchange (and have had multiple friends buy and sell through either one of those…
all great experiences.) Zero problems and prompt payment processing. Taken a Saddle on trial from Redwood, no problems (everything was processed as expected) just Saddle was too big for me. I believe her saddles are all owned by her…Not on consignment.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND ISELLTACK. Took my friend’s Saddle and never received payment, no return phone calls, no return emails. It’s been three years and no check and no sign of (at that time) a one year old Antares with buffalo leather. vanished!
Double Oak Tack (formerly DFW Tack Exchange) is wonderful. Have bought and sold with her, as well as worked with her on other occasions. Highly recommend!
I sold a friend’s saddle using someone who came highly recommended on this forum and I can’t remember her name, maybe someone else will also recommend her. I will recognize the name if I see it.
Patricia at fine used saddles is also highly recommended and I contacted her about a saddle, would definitely recommend her as being honest too.
I agree about ISELLTACK! Stay away from her.
As a buyer I had a very good experience with Maryland Tack Exchange, prompt refunds were issued after I returned saddles from trial periods.
Anyone use High-End Used Saddles site? Its Hermes if that matters Thanks for the feedback
High end used saddles is Cori McGraw, right? She is great.
Leah at Redwood Tack is great. She will often just buy your saddle outright or she will sell for a commission. She is a friend and I have both sold and bought saddles from her. Good luck!
Cindy Aruna - Now Double Oak Tack, formerly DFW. I bought a Butet from her last year and I was very pleased.
That is awful about ISellTack!! I do remember she sold one for us and the check “disappeared” but she did send another one. I guess I should consider myself lucky!!
I think that is the person I used to sell my friend’s saddle and yes, she was great to work with. What I liked is that she gives you a “buy it now” price that she will buy it for, or the price she expects she will be able to sell it for to someone else but of course that means sending it out on trial(s) until it sells. My friend chose to sell it directly to Cori rather than worry that something would happen to her saddle while on a trial. What I didn’t like was that the price we were told she would sell the saddle for ended up being several hundred dollars less than what it was advertised for on her website after we sold it to her. I suppose once she saw the saddle she realized it was worth more than what she had told us, the prices she gave us were based strictly on photographs. It was an older Devoucoux but beautifully cared for and had many years of use left.
Wasn’t her name Rachel? I think she started out being good but somewhere along the line she ended up taking people’s saddles but not sending them their money, and it went downhill fast.
I just bought a Butet through Double Oak Tack and Cindy was fabulous. Saddle was exactly as described and she was great to suggest things that might fit my big shouldered horse. We found just the thing finally!
I consigned and quickly sold an Antares through Highline Tack (Susy Shearer). She’s local to me and also fantastic. Several folks in my barn have bought from her as well and had great experiences — she just happened to not have what I needed while I was looking.
I bought a saddle from Cori on High End Used Saddles. She was super easy to work with and the saddle was exactly as she described. I would definitely do business with her again and I highly recommend her.
That is what I remember too.
I’ve bought Hermes saddles from DFW and the farm house tack shop and off of eBay. All are great! Including some I bought from eBay members in France and Germany
Leah at Redwood Tack is phenomenal! She’s super responsive to email, and will answer a ton of your ridiculous questions to ensure you get what you want. Highly recommend!
Another vote for High End! She was great. I am now waiting on a saddle from highline, and so far so good with them too. Middleburg Tack Exchange is also great.
