I really need to start videotaping all of my lessons so I was going to invest in one of the new robot camera technologies. Such as:

Has anyone bought one of these? What are your thoughts on it? How do they work?
Thanks!

Do a search on the forums for SoloShot. More than a couple of people have them, me included. I have the SoloShot2 and love it.
I have the Soloshot2 as well. It is a great training tool.
the only gripe I have about it is that it doesn’t work indoors. However, the company is supposedly working on a way to get it to track indoors.
Another very happy Soloshot2 user. I have a preorder in on the Soloshot3, which is due to be released in the spring. The Movensee looks very similar, but pricier.
Oops- didn’t realize it was from Move’n’see-
Has anyone tried Pixio from the UK? it works inside as well as outside. The ads have been coming up on my FB page the last few months.
I just checked out the Soloshot website and they now have an attachment for using the system indoors. They have a sensor that works with their own brand of camera and will release something soon that works with 3rd party cameras.
The Soloshot 3 doesn’t work with my Sony, which I want to use because it has a remote microphone. I want to hear my teacher in the video.

Contact them and ask WHEN that camera will be supported. If they don’t know that is a desire of a potential buyer, there’s no motivation to support it.
I have preordered the solo shot 3, which has an indoor adapter. Expected to ship in Spring 2016. It addresses many of the gripes of the soloshot 2, including much faster/easier connectivity.
Looking at getting Pixio. Soloshot info says the indoor range is 100 feet which isn’t as big as most indoor arenas. I guess it could be put at the letter E in my arena and it would make it. But I’d rather put it where the judge sits. And I’d definitely need more than 100 feet at indoor jumper shows. I like the storage aspect of Soloshot. With the soloshot cloud. That’s great. I haven’t seen that for pixio. Would definitely like to hear from more people with either of these.cameras!
I just got off the phone with the folks at Soloshot. I’m very disappointed in the way they are handing the change from Soloshot 2 to Soloshot 3. None of the components from soloshot 2 are compatible for indoor tracking, so if you want that, you have to buy an entirely new system. Even if there was no way technologically to offer some compatibility, the way they are marketing it is not working. At the price level of the Soloshot 3, even with the discount, you’d essentially be starting from scratch. People with a soloshot 2 would be better off taking other systems into consideration. It’s very disappointing.
The one benefit of the SoloShot is that it’s actually available now. Unlike Pixio which is available for pre-order with no promise delivery date that I can find.
Very disappointing about the lack of compatibility between models in Soloshot.

The Soloshot3 isn’t available now, although they are taking pre-orders.
Pixio will be available in February of 2016 according to their website.

Move n See and Pixio are the same thing.

Soloshot3 has a shorter indoor capability, but significantly better outside. Pixio is 330ft indoors and out. Depends what you’re doing but I like the idea that soloshot could actually catch some XC for me

If you understand how the SoloShot2 works; using GPS with very inexpensive yet fairly accurate antennas, there is no way they can convert that system to something that works indoors without dramatically increasing the price.
I suspect their marketing is working just fine for them and that the equestrian crowd is not their target market. Either way, I’m cool with it because I rarely ride indoors and I’ve already tested my Soloshot2 in a covered, albeit with cloth/tarp, arena and it worked great.
It’s still way easier to use that getting Mr. Atlatl to video me.
So excited for my Soloshot 3 to arrive in Spring! It is a Christmas present, one that I’ve wanted since the kickstart campaign on the first one!
Just wondering if anyone has received their soloshot 3 and how it’s working? Every time I visit the site, it seems the ship date is pushed back further?
Soloshot3 isn’t out yet. I’m participating as an early adopter and I haven’t received mine.
SnicklefritzG, when did you place your order? I’m not sure if I’m considered an early adopter, but I placed my order in December.
On FB I read that they will start shipping late summer, Aug/Sept. So sad! I could really use it now.
