Best threads/trainwrecks on COTH?

Here ya go, Toi.

Thank you Arabhorse2!

IT’S JUST THE CUT OF THE PANTS!!!
Hah. I remember referring to that thread as “Steffen’s Stiffy”.

I watched him at a clinic. It’s just the cut of the pants, because of the pleats and pockets.

I’m sure this thread made the SP camp aware of the image problem, because you always see pictures of him riding, but there’s always a hand conveniently in the way.

Oh, and for eventing trainwrecks, just mention Darren Chiacchia.

Sonesta, thanks. I found it under google images among many images of Steffan, it was unmistakable. Hysterical. The link is about 20 lines long or I’d post it here.

Worth looking up though (smirk).

TBH, I think this thread about best threads has become, well, one of the best threads.
YAY!!! I founded a “best thread on COTH”!!! lol

Poor man, such an unfortunate photo. You’d think the magazine editors would’ve noticed and photoshopped his wardrobe malfunction out.

I guess the original thread was deleted from the board? There was a followup thread, and these two posts stood out in particular:

Peter’s pecker perched upon a pretty pommel. Upon a pretty pony pommel Peter’s pecker perched. If Peter’s pecker perched upon a pretty pommel, where’s the pretty pony upon which the pommel perched?

(Answer: hiding his face in shame)

Say that five times fast!

Has Clarice been mentioned here yet?

Price Qoutes on Grand Prix jumpers (her spelling)

Okay, so I just read through this entire thread… I have two questions: Were Clarice and CP the same person? Why was Spot banned?

A third question comes to mind: Am I clueless?

lintesia, in a post by Lauriep on the “No Lungeing at Devon” thread (pg. 18, #346) she says that she knew of CP (and had some brief interactions with her) through her junior years. It’s an interesting post, and I tend to believe what lauriep says.

I think lauriep also alluded to Clarice being an actual person on another thread, but I’m not absolutely positive.

No clue why spot was banned.

The ex that Clarice kept referring to was an actual person in my neck of the woods at that time, though I never had anything to do with him. I knew the previous owners of his (her? their?) farm.

How about the stick art thread? That was cute!!!

and wasn’t spot a colour breeder? aka as TC?

Clarice popped up more recently on this board under a different name (I think) and also on ABR where she was trying to get some free horses (and IIRC, some donations for living expenses).

Isn’t Clarice the name of the woman on Silence of the Lambs?

JoZ, I totally forgot about the “mexican crapping in my manure pile!” That was CLASSIC!

And rereading that one reminded me of the poster YoungFilly, who was quite controversial.

Here are the “Cliff Notes”

Scene One: OP purchases unbroke filly who is the most talented horse in the entire world and who will fulfill her every dream and take her to the Olympics and become president.

Scene Two: Filly turns out not to be the self-training model and requires skill to start/train. Olympics and presidency not so certain. FREAK OUT!!!

Scene Three: Filly hurts self badly and needs stall rest. Extremely unfortunate for all.

Scene Four: Filly comes off of stall rest feisty and OP has a tough time. OP asks this board whether it’s okay to hate her. Filly is reported to be the most fire-breathing, dangerous, evil horse on Earth. 1% of the GDP that year is allocated to discussion of this topic. Another 1% is spent on determining whether it was mean to spend 1% on assessments of OP who, incidentally, really really loves the horse more than anything because she’s the most talented horse in the world except that she hates her because she’s the most dangerous horse in the world. House Financial Services Committee opens investigation into worker productivity lost to OP drama.

Scene Five: Some riding. OP takes lessons. Various dramas accounting for about 2,000 work hours among COTH membership.

Scene Six: Riding not working out. Filly advertised as not so dangerous, free leased to kid. Filly bolts and lessors don’t want her anymore. The obvious conclusion to draw? Filly has “terminal” melanomas and needs to be retired. It is heartbreaking because this Filly, which was the most dangerous but most talented (but free leasable to a kid) horse in the entire observable universe, is going to die within 15 minutes. U.S. Department of Commerce reports that worker productivity has dipped to its lowest point since filly came off of stall rest.

Scene Seven: Evil horse shippers kidnap the most talented/dangerous/kid-safe/hated/loved/terminal/valuable horse in the world and send her to the wrong farm, where instead of getting the 15 minutes of leisure she richly deserves before she drops from routine tumors that less talented/dangerous/beloved horses could live with for a decade, she is in danger of being eaten by carnivorous unicorns.

Scene Eight: You’re soaking in it.

So I finally finished reading the crayola trainer thread and I wonder what happened to Blind Alter considering she never checked back in. I do hope she and her family are okay.

Maybe that should be another warning attached to the links (along with number of pages). Resolution/no resolution!

It’s vexing to slog through the whole thing and never know how it all turned out in the end.
