Big boobs and hunt coat

When I bought my hunt coat it was suggested I get a good strong sports bra to mash my boobs down. I did that but I wonder if any large breasted women get hunt coats to fit then in regular bras.

You’d probably be more comfortable in a sports bra, but I’d suggest getting a jacket that fits your chest in whatever bra you’re going to show in, then get the waist and sleeves taken in. It’ll look better.

It isn’t so much smashing them but getting good support for the no bounce. Mine is considered a sports bra but is very sturdy and it is very difficult to get on and nothing moves…lol! AND I am not flat chested. I only use it for riding. I have two. I believe they are Champion. Not sure what model.

How would I do that? It is a custom coat and there is literally like 2 inches between my measurements with my Ennel sports bra and regular bra.

I have an Ennel and it mashes and supports nothing is moving!..lol

I had one and had to throw it away. Even being the right size it put so much pressure on the trigger points in my shoulders that it caused migraines

Oh wow! I can seriously see thst happening to me.

I have heard good things about that bra. I would only wear it for riding.

I can’t fathom why a large breasted woman would want to wear a regular bra for riding. Unless it’s for vanity purposes? You wouldn’t wear a regular bra to run a half marathon, would you?

8 never ran a half marathon so I can’t say.

I found the Kerrit’s Kompetitor Koat is fantastic. Lots of room for the girls.

Ok thanks for the information. I’m not actually looking for a new coat as my new custom is beautiful. I was just sort of wondering about the bra thing.

IME equestrian wear is sized to fit the less well endowed. As indeed is most ā€œnormalā€ clothing. It’s true you can buy a larger size and have the waist tailored but often that leaves you with shoulders that are too wide. True made to measure custom from a good tailor is obviously the way to go, if you can afford it.

As far as boobage and riding, I know I rode braless !!! as a teen in the 1970s when braless was just fine as a fashion statement. But these days, I need a sports bra, except in the dead of winter with six layers of clothing binding me in :). Even my good underwired flattering regular bras don’t work for riding.

I suppose it depends a bit on your discipline, but by and large I think riders look better with the girls strapped down and not bucking and farting around the arena.

The less that wiggles the better, of course steady hands and legs, but boobs blooping around make everything else look uncomfortable and off, even on a very good rider.

There might be some niche of breed show left where exploding cleavage might mesmerize some doddery old judge, but I think less likely these days where you can see anything you want at any time of day online

In the old eating disorders thread that got revived a few days ago a few folks point out that boobage is a big negative in riding, but a plus in the rest of life  so the trick is minimize minimize and strap down tight.

Apparently wearing a cross country protective vest also works well.

My coat looks great with my enell bra and so bad without it!! I guess I will just resign myself to this squish bra. My SO said to never wear my Enell bra anywhere but a horse show!!

I wear my exercise bras to ride and when I used to do actual excersize other than barn work  but I find them uncomfortable for a regular day and I hate the ā€œprofileā€ under regular clothes.

Though after a summer riding every day and pretty much living in them, I had a moment of ā€œwhere did all this come from?ā€ when I got dressed for teaching in September.

:winkgrin::lol::winkgrin: That imagery is way too funny and way too true!

I have a boob smashing bra for riding also. I had a male trainer and was really getting self conscious, hard to put your shoulders back when you are worried about your boob bouncing in your face.

Go for the boob smasher during showing.

This just came up on my fb page. Looks like you can keep some shape. Not sure how well it works but she looks confident. I hadn’t realized the, errrrr, size of the problem, until I saw a video of me taken from C…it might of been the best entry ever, but all I could see was knockersaplenty swinging…mortifying.

Enell is my go to, LOVE them when in the saddle. I love my Airowear Outlyne even more, it really has helped my confidence, in two ways. I started wearing it after a bad fall, at the request of my family, I was reluctant to ride in it, until my first sitting trot, and AT LAST no movement…I was so self conscious at the time…all part of the recovery process, and it really helped me. So now I’m doubly ā€˜secured’ Enell and vest.

If your brave enough, go for it! :encouragement::lol::smiley:

Actually the bra does look interesting. The band that goes below the boobs is adjustable with Velcro and it zips up the front, which is better than a zillion hook and eye fasteners. The cups are cup shaped, not just flat. It comes in larger girl sizes. I am thinking of getting one.
