BOs - Things you never thought you had to tell your boarders NOT to do......

Do people really need to be changing their ‘feminine products’ in the 2 hrs it takes to groom, ride and put up their horse?
If it were that bad, I’d be skipping riding that day.
Thank God for menopause![/QUOTE]

Um yes. Not everyone has a light easy flow and not everyone wants to do nothing one week per month.

Even more so to those people whose life does not include go straight to the barn, groom and ride and go straight home.

How about those people who go straight from work, 45 minute drive to the barn, then do some chores, be it their horse’s share board chores or chores they do to work off part of their board.

Some people might board multiple horses and ride and handle more than one per day.

And/or some people might have a long drive from home/work to the barn. In some metropolitan areas, a drive of an hour-plus from residential and office areas to rural areas housing boarding barns is not at all unusual.

And/or some people may do self-care, so their barn time might include an hour or more of chores, in addition to grooming and riding X number of horses and factoring in the drive time to get there.

And/or some women have much heavier flow than others; when I was attempting to use chemical birth control, for instance, my periods were … let’s just say “bountiful.” A change every 1.5-2 hours was necessary for a couple of days.

I think it might be easier for the BO/BM to just ban all menstrating women from coming to the barn at all during that time of the month. Attracts the bears, y’know.

OMG. Maybe the critters rifling through the trash cans were bears?! Was a bear trying to break into the portapotty? I can see where that’d be scary enough to make me wage the war on tampons!

Another one today - if you decide to use the dose syringe to give your horse SMZs, please clean the stream of white liquid you sprayed on the floor, ceiling and candy machine while trying to figure out the correct ratio of liquid to medicine to flow well.
Luckily I am off on vacation soon.

From yesterday:

If you see my cat fell asleep in your horse’s stall while you were riding, don’t leave him in there with your obnoxious warmblood and no way out and leave without telling me!

I was out looking for my cat (and thinking the worst as he ALWAYS comes when called) for over an hour before a boarder heard him in the stall. Fortunately the horse didn’t hurt him. Boarder said: “he didn’t want to leave”. Um…he’s a cat…you can pick him up and move him…

The best thing to do is shoo the cat out, with a broom if you have too. Cat scratches and bites can be very serious.

It’s winter…thick jackets and gloves…and it is a pet that everyone plays with…not some semi-feral beast.
