His connections had to have breathed a huge sigh of relief when Magical didn’t make the trip over.
I don’t have cable either. I ended up signing up for a free 1 week trial of Fubo.
Importantly, seems like all starters came back safely?
If so, one day down, one to go.
That was cool. It’s neat to see the kids of horsemen find alternative careers in the industry, like her, Gabby, and Laffit. And I think it really gives weight to their commentary knowing they’ve been roaming the shedrows all their lives.
However I found her little headpiece very distracting. But maybe that’s just me.
There is a good series on Youtube called All In: The Road to the Classic which follows all the BC Classic contenders through the summer. Season 2 is 2019.
I couldn’t figure out what it was made of.
@Palm Beach It is nice to listen to commentators that are well versed in the subject at hand. I had no idea who she was until the horse her Dad trains was out in front coming down the stretch.
What a great day for her. It was fun to see her genuine happiness and I’m glad we got to share it.
I hope today goes as well as yesterday, with all coming home safely.
4 scratches from today’s races by the Veterinarian.https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/236813/imperial-hint-scratched-from-breeders-cup-sprint
Did anyone watch the Facebook Live broadcast of the Filly & Mare Sprint? It was a very strong performance for both of the top two finishers. (And I was rolling from the commentary regarding Covfefe’s name!)
Wow! Belvior Bay! Track record against the boys.
Belvoir Bay was blisteringly fast in that race. What a great story, too.
I didn’t see it.
Amazing race for Belvoir Bay!
Watched yesterday’s races back last night and thought NBC did a nice job. The camera work was particularly good to downright spectacular. They had a slow motion shot of Four Wheel Drives last strides as he crossed under the wire alone and the detail was striking, every muscle showed - talk about stamping his get. Wow. With his win and the other 2 APs each finishing 3rd in their races, AP certainly looks like he’s on the way as a sire…much to the delight of those who bought his yearlings recently.
Betting they will reshow that piece on breakdowns mentioned upthread. They have to address the issue to the not so knowledgeable, casual race viewers and thought it was informative and tasteful, worth sitting through. I was going to fast forward it but ended up watching. Also thought they had more interesting stories and facts about horses, owners and jockeys then in the past.
That breakdown piece started with a reference to a whispered prayer from every race fan as the gate opens that they all come back safe. And that is my exact thought right now and will be every time the gate opens…but, then again, it always has been.
Spun to Run had a nice win in the Mile. Improbable got out of the gate okay but then got squeezed back and then never fired. Omaha Beach needed more distance, from what I could tell from my semi-casual fan perspective.
Acorns you silly goose. It’s fall.
Oh. I had no idea.
I love her.
Interesting what they said about the track. It’s now deep with added sand, is tiring the horses and making trainers rethink their strategies.
