Breeder’s Cup 2019

The track is a bit heavy and deep. I think they added a bit of sand to slow it down a bit, which makes it safer. But not good for closers.

Today it’s a few leftover horseflies.

I actually really like her commentary. She is very genuine.

You can tell she loves racing.

I’m so happy for the Spun to Run connections! They are so thrilled.

How fun for the O’Briens!

Mitole.

Dang, with the way the sprinters are running today, it’s hard to believe this is a slow, deep track (though I don’t doubt the reports on that front). Imagine what kind of times we’d be seeing if that modification hadn’t been made.

I’m verklempt after watching the interview of Ricardo Santana Jr.

Mitole was spectacular.

yeah, but we aren’t (so far,) seeing any breakdowns. What did you guys think bout the jock on Mitole whaling on him? I mean he won, but he was going to town. I know the difference in waving it at them and a smack or even one good hit, but it was shades of Calvin Borel again.
BTW, as far as the commentators’ headgear, I liked Christina Blacker’s better. It was similar to Britney’s but maybe more delicate.
I missed the interview so what did he say?

He was genuinely humble and overcome with emotion.

A most refreshing lack of celebrity interviews. I could do without the fashion tidbits, but really, no complaints.

Ya think Baffert got paid a few quid for saying Improbable was going to have to run a “big ass race”?

Wow, the fillies and mares are schooling the guys today!

Uni’s running style reminds me a bit of Zenyatta. These mares and their dramatics. That was a fun race to watch.

Oh, that was a great race. Those ladies are tough! Just wow. Talk about heart.

Uni looks like a sweet tempered girl. I love More Than Ready.

I did not expect Blue Prize to be able to hold off Midnight Bisou; great finish in the Distaff.

So many surprises at this Breeder’s Cup. Blue Prize was great. I’m so glad she didn’t have one of her weaving runs. :eek:It’s scary when she does that.

Midnight Bisou has nothing to be ashamed of. She ran well.

I’ve been looking at the breeding of the horses in the Turf. I’m not familiar with Camelot, sire of Alounak.

He’s a stunner. https://www.bloodhorse.com/stallion-…991/camelot-gb

Sweet win for Bricks and Mortar! He’s a handsome horse.

Whew. I didn’t think Bricks and Mortar was ever going to find room to run in the stretch. He really gave a gutty effort to pull off the win!

Well, I guess that makes a strong argument for HOTY for Bricks And Mortar. Admittedly I am unable to get too excited about it, given that he’s now owned by the Japanese.

Was really rooting for Bricks and mortar! Good gutsy win. Hoping elate can win in the classic.

Why don’t you like the Japanese connections?
