Which race(s) are you most looking forward to?
Are you rooting for the favorite or hoping for a longshot?
I started another thread, but better to keep all together.
I am excited about Enable trying for an Arc/BC Turf double!
I never bother to look at the races until the day of, but I am a sucker for the girls running against the boys and will be rooting for Enable for sure.
I am excited about Enable coming over, but I am MOST EXCITED to see if āmyā girl Chanteline runs in the turf sprint or not. Part of me says she deserves a chance to try and the other part says she ran such an amazing race last out that I would hate to see her end her career getting her heart broken. Good news is Iām not the one making the decision. Bad news is boss is out of the country so I have no idea which way they are leaning.
So excited for BC18, and in particular Oscar Performance in the Turf Mile.
Hereās a great clip showing Oscar getting some love from trainer Brian Lynch:
I will be in the area that weekend and I am beyond upset that I did not get tickets to go watch. Perhaps I will be able to stop by the track a few days after the Breeders Cup is said and done.
2018 BC pre-entries.
One new race, the Juvenile Turf Sprint.
Still many moving parts as some horses are pre-entered in one with a second race a possible. Biggest is that Collected is currently āoutā of the Classic but could make it in depending on how others āmove aroundā.
Mind your Biscuits SHOULD NOT race in the classic. Will be sad to see this one go to Japan after this race
Has it already been announced that Japan is where Mind Your Biscuits will go? Why would that be a bad thing. It sounds to me as thought many of the stallions going to Japan from the US also come back from Japan and they sound like they take good care of the stallions once they are in Japan.
I would agree that I think MYB should go in the Dirt Mile but based on his last race, he may end up in the Classic.
yes I think it is japan or china. somewhere in Asia. Probably Shadai as i think they are now an owner on him. He was sold earlier in the year. I am not saying its a bad thing that he goes there but Heās been such a good, consistent horse here, a fan favorite, I was surprised to see him go overseas. But the Asian interest jumped the gun on the Americans and got to him first.
My apologies. Back in May, Paulick Report had a story that Mind Your Biscuits sold to Shadai Farm (part owner based on current Equibase) and will stand in Japan.
Sounded like Shadai had been interested in MYB for a time prior to the sale. If I was part owner and I had a good offer including stud deal, Iād take it rather than wait until something better came along if a better offer came along.
If Shadai liked MYB that much, I suspect they will take good care of him. The article didnāt mention if a return to the states was included once his breeding career is finished.
I believe that Mind Your Biscuits will be well taken care of in Japan.
I am more concerned about whether MYB can get a mile and one-quarter. Doubt it. So much hope I am wrong.
They are dropping like flies
Its Gonna Hurt out of the Juvenile Turf Sprint (suspensory āissueā)
Dream Tree out of Filly & Mare Sprint (epiglottic entrapment)
Count me in on MYB not running in the Classic. I think Dirt Mile but then again, I donāt own him and heās sold regardless (I assume) of how he performs in any BC race.
Andā¦ X Y Jet out of the Sprint with filling in his knee after his last work.

Have they announced a time for the draw tomorrow
Almost bought tickets but decided against it. Good thing. Totally lousy weather leading up to it, rain, rain and more rain which will leave things soggy for quite awhile when it stops tomorrow (Fri) morning. On top of which itās cold, highs around 50. Canāt imagine a fast track for tomorrow and soft will be a kind way to describe the Turf course after 4-6" today and tonite. Main track should be dry and honest fast by Saturday but the turf course?? Might favor the Euros who seem to like a more yielding surface.
So it will enable Enable.
Aiden OāBrien has his string out on the track today.
Looking lovely.

I dont think that one needs much enabling but forgive me if I bet to beat her as I usually do with horses that really have no excuses for not winning. Love it if they win but canāt resist the underdogs. Especially in a field rich with Euros and other soft turf lovers. Just have to figure out the right one before tomorrow.
I have no idea about the Classic . Not seeing a real standout at the distance. Bunch of really nice horses butā¦MS picked McKenzie so maybe just go with that. Good as any other method of picking something.
