Breeders Cup 2018

I’m with CVPeg… Turf the best race of the day. Enable put the ladies on the board nicely with the first Arc-Classic dual winner and a filly!

Magical gave her a good run for her money.

I was sitting there thinking… Winx or Enable? Winx had proven herself over multiple distances and has beaten nice horses, including some that have traveling from Europe.

That would be the race… Winx and Enable

MYB… wasn’t real excited about his prospects and didn’t end well.

Wild Illusion. Was wondering how long a gate crew needs to try to load a BC race favorite before they throw in the towel.

Loved that Roy H won!

Sounds like Smith and BB said that Abel Tasman just didn’t run. She may be done with racing. No problems, just not interested any more. I’ve hear that mares often just get tired of the racing game more than the colts do, true?

Was impressed that Thunder Snow did a good job in the Classic as he really wasn’t a favorite and was happy to see that the bronco act from the Derby wasn’t repeated

well, since I got a job, I had to work and didn’t see any of them live. I watched it al on tape. I hadn’t missed any BC races since the very first one. I Just don’t follow racing as much as I used to as no one else I know gives a rats patootie about it. The horses don’t stay in training, long enough to build up a following.
With that said, I was a bit confused with all the 2 year old races. I enjoyed them and it will be interesting to follow them next year. Jaywalk was fabulous, as was Newspaperofrecord.
I have watched so many Arc winners come over here and lose, that to watch her running on away from the pack was thrilling.
And then Magical was amazing. GREAT finish to that race. Since I haven’t followed as closely this year, I had no favorite, and was able to watch without much emotion. The Classic was a great race, and John Sadler finally has gotten a win.

Since I live in a state which outlaws betting on racing, I have no worries about losing money. I tried to set up a TVG account years ago, just for some of the bennies, and it was soundly rejected.
The best result is that all the horses walked off the track on their own power, no one was eased. Weather was much better, and they finally finished in the daylight. Great day all around.

Thanks to Northern Dancer. And Galileo is in his own universe at this point.

Will miss seeing him on the track but glad the connections are doing the right thing for him if he’s lost his enthusiasm for racing.
