I could see them potentially going to Dubai and maybe a race next summer to prep for another BC possibly but more likely is the Pegasus and he is out if he isn’t out already. If he does run in the Pegasus I will meet you there!
And I am there on the rail - I was in the suite just underneath you!
More details once I get home… did very well at betting - that is not normally the case! Hoping for recoveries for Epicenter and Domestic Spending…

If they decide to run him in the Pegasus, which I really hope they do, I think there will be a lot of people making the trek to watch him in person.

I saw a video on YouTube that followed Flightline back to the barn. As they were finishing his post race wash down, he was standing like a statue against that sky

Not surprised.
I don’t think the Pegasus would have proven anything–don’t think he would have met any horses he did not beat yesterday.
And they would never have risked the trip to Dubai. Purse is huge, but he can make that in the shed without leaving town.
I have decided not to think about comparing him to other horses. I am just going to enjoy him for what he is, what he did. And it was wonderful.

One positive of stepping away now, he can cover a full book of mares next year. Bet their phone is ringing.

Domestic Spending update: He is more comfortable today and remains stable. He does have a pelvic fracture, likely originating when he broke from the gate and worsening as the race continued according to my veterinary team. He is receiving excellent care around the clock.

The only news we will get in the next two months about Domestic Spending is bad news so hopefully it’s all quiet on that front.
