Live PP draw begins at 7:00pm EST
Scary couple of seconds after Ushba Tesoro pop his rider off this morning & one of the stirrups got stuck on his bit.
Oooff! Scary! Well done by the rider to hang on from the ground and disengage the stirrup.
And, not exactly the same thing, but that is why one always runs up stirrups immediately upon dismounting. I saw a horse whip his head around to bite at a fly right after the rider dismounted, and do the same thing with the stirrup.
Good that STG didn’t wind up in the #1 PP. FINALLY. Good luck to all.
Take that rider out for a steak dinner if that was my horse.
Non Compliant (Juv Fillies), Out On Bail (Juv Turf Sprint) & Ylang Ylang (F&M Turf) are both out.
All i have are NBC and USA. I just saw this on breederscup.com and take it to mean i can watch on those two.–
I hope it’s correct.
A few more are out
Batacuda, trained by Saffie Joseph, Jr., and Miss New York, trained by Jorge Delgado, were both vet scratches.
Juvenile Turf entrant Tenacious Leader was scratched.
Minaret Station is out of the Juvenile Turf.
Actually glad to see more attention being paid to best interests of the horse here. Both vet calls on running and trainer decisions (and presumably owner agreement)on best race for that horse at this time.
“Evidence of bone remodeling”?? Well, yes, you would find that in every racing thoroughbred. Cracking down on medication and closer veterinary supervision, absolutely. But things are being taken to the ridiculous now. Seek and ye shall find - there is no perfect athlete, human or horse, out there. If you look with a microscope you won’t find perfection.
At what point is it too much….
FYI, if you want to watch but don’t have cable or Fanduel, you can watch from the Breeder’s cup website. It redirects to their YouTube page where it’s live streaming. For Saturday, it look like NBC network tv coverage is only from 3:30-6:30, otherwise it’s streaming on NBC.com from 12:30-3:30 so you’d need a tv log in. I would expect they’ll be streaming 100% of everything on the Breeders cup YT channel though too.
I saw a schedule somewhere that said parts of today and tomorrow would be shown on USA channel.
Yes, I was mostly referencing the free ways to watch it. It’ll be on USA too but you’d need cable for that. I think the only non cable tv or Fanduel way to watch is regular network NBC tomorrow for those few hours or from the Breeders Cup website. Earlier in the thread we discussed that it looked like it should be on network NBC for the whole afternoon on Saturday but it’s not which is a bummer for anyone without cable (me haha).
I didn’t read most of the thread and I was already on the train to work this morning before I realized it was on USA so although I do have cable I didn’t record it! I’m hoping to be home in time for the Distaff at least.
If you have a phone with internet, you can at least catch it on youtube if you aren’t home in time. The Distaff is Saturday at 4:21 EST though.
Thanks, I thought the Distaff was this afternoon. Internet is iffy on the train but I’ll try.
