Mike Smith is obviously upset.
Don’t leave us in suspense - you guys who are there…what happened?
SO close!! What a mare!
20 more feet of track and I bet she would have had him. Unbelieveable that she made it to second in my mind.
No, you got it right. She blew me away with that run, but still broke my heart.

Broke poorly, was WAYYYYY back 20+ lengths, trailed the pack, charged up and lost by a nose.

exactly - stays queen in my mind though - what a horse!
I do think it’s very lame the crowd is not cheering for the winner…
One more stride, I think she would have won…erghhhh!!!
She’s amazing. Even though she came in 2nd, it was an incredible run, after a poor break. What a lot of heart she has.
She was so far behind that I thought something was wrong.

No kidding. And even the commentators are still carrying on about Zenyatta. Now that they’ve said nothing about the other horses the entire sportscast, let’s learn a little about the BC Classic winner, please?
Well, she didn’t break my heart. She ran her HEART out!
You gotta feel for M. Smith though… he’s got to be flogging himself wondering if he hadn’t got there sooner.
Thanks Alicat - what a SHAME.
SHE didn’t break my heart, the nose loss broke my heart! I really thought she had it!
She broke more slowly than I remember her doing in the past. Ran such an impressive race in spite of that. Wow. She’s #1 in my book.

Me too. About halfway down the stretch for the first time I thought for sure I saw her bobble a little. Then the camera left her and I was scared to death waiting to hear the announcer say she was being pulled up or something. One to two more strides she would have had it. Love her relaxed expression as she comes down the stretch and her ears perk forward when she crosses the line.
