Silly question. I’ve always loved the color brindle. My current Dog is brindle … he’s the third dog in my life who has been this color. Pure mutt that I found on the side of the road 12 years ago. So is he black with yellow stripes or yellow with fat black stripes ? Anyone else love a brindle dog ?
he appears to be a reverse brindle, black base with yellow stripes.
Lucky you to find a stray brindle. Would you have kept him if he were just brown?
He’s a lovely boy and I’ll bet he’s had a good life with you. Yes I agree, brindles are special.
Oh yes. I have a problem I guess. I cannot drive past a stray It’s how I wound up with 5 dogs at one point. I don’t care about color. I’ve just somehow had a bunch of brindle dogs over the last 20 years.
Ps I’m trying not to feel offended at your question about the dog being brown. I have mopped up the dumped dogs in my area for 20 years. It’s exhausting and expensive…the price you pay for living on a farm I guess. but I’m the child of an old school vet who saved everything. And I do too.
I’m hoping this finds you well. Your beautiful brindle boy looks almost exactly like my girl. She crossed the rainbow bridge 2 years ago but I got her Nov2008 at 6 weeks old. Which would be roughly the same age as your boy. I’m curious where you found him? I’ve attached some pictures for comparison. I was explaining to a friend what brindle looks like, googled it and I SWORE the first pic was my girl (she once wore a blue collar). It was a wild moment. Hope to hear back!

Oh my!!! They could be siblings!!! Oliver is still alive and well but he is quite old. He is a month shy of being 15! Oldest large dog I’ve ever had. I found Oliver in 2010 in January running along the side of the road in Winter Haven Florida. He was young. Maybe barely six weeks old. He is the very best dog I’ve ever had. My heart dog.
Please tell me more about your lovely dog.
Puppy pic before he got so grey and frosty faced
Love Anatolians! What a beauty !!!
Heart dog is exactly what my Grace was. The absolute best, even my parents who have had multiple breeds and trainings of dogs will say the same, she was truly the best. She would do anything I asked, full of tricks!
I’m in lower NY, and adopted her from North Shore Animal League. They told me she was one of the many rescued from a puppy mill in Tennessee. Her full name was Gracelynn a nodd to GraceLand-I’m a big Elvis fan. More proof we were meant for eachother. All they said was that she was a terrier mix. She ended up at her max weight to be 55lbs. Very muscular, very intelligent. Truly the best.
Your boy is handsome he really looks so much like her. The white on the feet and chest and all it’s wild lol
It’s only allowing me to post one image per post
This one is her only 8 weeks old
We always thought she had some cattle dog in her. She’s got the Bentley mark on her neck and she would talkkkkkkkk all the time
She is gorgeous. You have made my heart sing to learn about her. Thank you so much. I swear they are mirror images of each other. I sincerely appreciate you sharing your beautiful girl. I cannot imagine my life without Oliver but I know his time draws near. Takes my breath away think about a world without him. He is the very best dog. Funny. So serious. About his job. Of loving me. Loving his farm. Not a mean bone in his body. Again. Thank you.
Please I should be thanking you! A trip down memory lane, sharing my girl is something really special. She ended up passing from Lymes, she fought a good fight for about 3 years but ultimately I had to make the horrific choice. But I am a firm believer of being there for them like they’re always there for us.
Hold that beautiful boy close for as long as possible. All your fur babies.
The resemblance is uncanny! I am sincerely sorry for your loss but at the same time I know your life was rich beyond measure loving her every moment. Isn’t that the story of dogs? They capture your heart and take a huge hunk of it when they leave. Perhaps that’s how they remain connected to you. Forever.
My goodness they have the same ears. One totally dropped and the other partially to the side.
Thank you for sharing Gracelynn with us. She was beautiful.
I am glad we all love dogs!
