Browband storage

I’m starting to have a bit of a browband collection. Right now they are just loose in a drawer. I’d love to have something to store them in so they are protected, together, and still handy.

Something like a pencil case would be perfect but those are much too short.

I found a lot of browband protectors on etsy but those all seem to be for when it is on the bridle - I had trouble finding ones currently being sold for storage.

I might have to just go to the Container Store or something to see if I can find something that is long enough for them without being too large in all other dimensions.

What are you using?

I have mine on a dowel or curtain rod. I only have a few but it keeps them bent and no stress on the gems or whatever is on them. I slip it through the hole where the crown would go.

I’m super classy - I store mine in a quart sized zip lock baggie…

It’s not that big. Maybe a foot tall 5" wide 6" deep. I bought it for loose items like batteries pens etc

I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve been thinking about using a foam roller stood on end, possibly covered with a nice fabric. Each browband would need a piece of elastic or something to fasten it loosely onto the foam roller so it doesn’t slide down, but this would keep them in horse forehead shape pretty well, I think.

I keep mine in a cylindrical supplement container. (I think it was a bucket of LinPro)
Keeps them curved, and the container top keeps it airtight.

I didn’t even think of this but it will probably be my initial option! Thank you.

Many of the other ideas sound good but since I board and have minimal space for storage, I can’t use some of these larger/bulkier options.

I had been thinking I wanted a straight case to keep the browband mostly straight, but you all are mentioned ways to keep it stored curved, so now I’m thinking I could keep it in a tupperware style container where it would be curved.

After thinking about wanting a longer pencil case I found that paint brush cases do come in the 13-14 inch length which is longer - not long enough for them to be straight but maybe there would be enough room for them to fit in with a bit of a curve. I might start with using a container I already have.

There is a small business on Facebook that makes browband holders with as many pockets as you need, you can hang it on the wall. Look up Westwind Equine.

I can’t hang it on a wall (I board and there is no space for that) but it still looks like it could work even if I put it in my drawer that I have. Thanks!

Just saw this at Michaels and it’s work perfectly I think - a box that contains lots of smaller boxes, one per browband

They were about $12 - the price there is wrong

I have covers for them (mine are quite blinging for showing, not dressage) then they’re stored in a bridle bag which I have lying flat, rather than hanging it.

Years ago, at my request, my mother made me a fleece browband storage case very like a cutlery roll: https://youtu.be/SsuFfNy5ixk

Another thing I have done is buy cheap fleece halter covers and slide them for when I take extras to a horse show.

Wow. So many creative ideas! Horse people can find a good solution for almost anything.

It’s so simple. Keeps the beads safe from snagging and keeps a good curve to the browband itself. I make them and have quite the collection for myself, but no fancy storage method.

This seems like it will work well enough for now! Should fit 3 browbands and I currently have 2 extras so I guess that means I need to go buy another one

Hello @Zevida ! I happen to make and sell a Jewelry Roller that is primarily meant for long necklaces and chains, but a costumer just bought one and told me she will use it for her fancy bridle browbands. I am not an equatrian so I went to a store to look at it. This is how the browbands will fit into my Jewelry Rollers. See if it works for you. If you are interested you can find me on Etsy, my store’s name is Joyeritos. Thanks.

There are plenty of inexpensive necklace storage boxes and display cases on the market that could likely be used. Start with Amazon, they have over 50 pages of them, and that is only where I decided to stop scrolling down.
