Bullying

Doesn’t own, doesn’t ride, doesn’t train, doesn’t compete - tries to make money from bitching about those who do.

That’s it, in a nutshell. The shame of it. Haters make me viral? Someone’s confusing famous with infamous.

SW actually boasts on her FB page that she uses Dhub for revenge and to get back at people who she has personal differences with. She isn’t remotely in the category of someone analyzing ride videos for the sake of the equitation and horse. She says outright that she is getting revenge on people. I think the advice to simply ignore her is the best advice, but I can also see that it would difficult when it descends to the recent levels of personal insult, not remotely related to riding.

She is a troll.

If some of the content providers (USEF Network, etc.) took some action, then they could get the bulk of the pirated material removed from the FB page and YouTube. Some of the public personalities featured may also be able to complain, but that’s a little tougher.

I just checked DressHub facebook page.

Following Diane Creech’s elimination, SW said that when she was there, she watched several horses with blood in the mouth get dismissed from the tack check without being eliminated…

Thank god she’s no longer allowed on the ground.

Do we know why her hatred is specifically spewed toward Canadians?

Perhaps because is Canadian too and she resents their success? Or they know first-hand about her lack of credentials and expertise, along with her really unremarkable show record? Mostly I think because they all stood up in defence of Jill and Brittany when the bizarre attacks started.

Yeah, she is Canadian. I didn’t follow closely but I think she went off on the Canadian team around the time of the last Olympic run up. Perhaps there was some resentment before that from Florida days? Canada has been doing well in jumping internationally but isn’t really strong in dressage, so I can’t imagine any nonCanadian getting so wound up!

I am friends with someone who used to be facebook friends with SW. She posts hateful non-horse related things as well (quite racist). A very unhappy person, that seems to be recognized as a fraud by area horse people (judges, show organizers and such). I imagine this is part of why she attacks Canadians: we are a smaller group and it is harder for her to hide her true colours.

Well honestly I only got interested enough to piece together her back story because she was a fellow Canadian and at that point was picking up and returning to Canada.

There were a lot of other red flags on including a wierd lifestyle travel blog she was trying to maintain. I think there is some kind of income support or family money in the background.

I don’t like to keep this going, but wanted to add some information as one of the people she harassed and spending a long time talking to one of the big names she harassed and stole from.

I don’t know why she hates Canadians, but I suspect she was never a good rider and it has something to do with jealousy. Her family has money and she basically has a trust fund, so no need to support herself, so she can pretend she’s actually making a living from this. There seems to be mental illness in her background, and then she had a TBI, which probably made it a lot worse. She was “attacked” by someone and posted all over about it. It may be true as she has pissed off so many people, someone probably went after her personally. She has done this in other venues, so it’s not just dressage.

I think it’s best not to give her any attention in any way. If you go to her Facebook page, report her over and over and over for stolen content, harassment, etc. Facebook is blocking people now, so this might actually work.

She got into a spat with Heather Blitz

Heather Blitz

PSA:
About Dressage Hub. Please read. BTW, this isn’t my opinion, it’s what’s going on and she’s open about it.
The woman’s goal is to take down another rider. It’s not an educational site, unfortunately; it’s a click-bait page she created to make money and has targeted another rider (who has a cease and desist against Susan Wachowich, who started and runs Dressage Hub).
Go to Susan Wachowich’s personal page and see what she posts about going viral and her internet empire and karma.
Educate yourself, please, but know that Dressage Hub is all a farce. Susan Wachowich deletes comments made by people who disagree with her or defend the other rider in any way. So, it appears as though she’s speaking the truth. She’s not.
She wants you to watch her videos on Dressage Hub because she makes money that way.
It’s sick.
(Only posting this because many of my friends on FB are following Dressage Hub and don’t know the story.)
Feel free to cut and paste this.

Didn’t Robert Dover say his videos had better not show up on her page?

Heather Blitz is Canadian? Thought she was American.

DH’s target of the day (since Britt is taking a break from competition) seems to be Karen Pavicic, who is Canadian but now rides for Croatia since she was (allegedly) screwed over by a Canadian judge and our national equestrian federation.

I don’t mind honest criticism of riding from someone who has at least trained to GP and knows at least a little about dressage , but criticism from someone like SW is utterly meaningless.

I thought we were supposed not to follow Dressage Hub?

A person can follow Dressage Hub if they want to or pop in time to time.

Nothing to stop you Manni.

Heather Blitz is very definitely American.

She’s not following. She’s checking what she’s doing.

And I will quote myself." If you go to her Facebook page, report her over and over and over for stolen content, harassment, etc. Facebook is blocking people now, so this might actually work."

You can choose to do whatever you like.

Personally, I choose not to “follow” her page or “like” or engage with any of her posts since she views those numbers as an indication of success. And I absolutely do not visit her YouTube page or click any of the videos she posts there and to FB, mainly because I refuse to financially support someone who steals and rebrands content from others and tries to profit off their work.

I do,however, go visit her page on occasion to see for myself and document the vile crap she posts there, along with the worse stuff on her personal page (like the post where she says straight up that she only created DH to f*** with horse people) so that I can report any bullying, hate speech or stolen content and share screenshots with anyone who is still under the misapprehension that’s it’s a credible site.

I find it amusing she attacks BF so frequently and says she can’t ride, meanwhile Carl hester told BF at the clinic here that her horse was quality enough for a top finish at the Olympics if she just polished a few things.

Can Safesport not get involved?

All Safesport could do at most to anyone under the sun is to ban them from competing. For an active rider and trainer, that would be a huge blow. To someone that doesn’t even ride or compete like SW, it is meaningless.

This is the problem with internet trolls. To a very large degree there is no way to stop them.

I thought she lurked around the show grounds maybe.

its kind of amazing how those who are successful and don’t follow the “norm” get harassed the most. This woman is an extremely amazing and talented equestrian.

People are getting so hopped up about “bullying bullying bullying” as a knee jerk response that they have lost their ability to think critically.

Re some of the examples cited:

There is a big difference between a junior in a clinic trying to learn who gets videoed and filleted, and, say Nick Peronace. I barely participate in the Nick Peronace threads myself, but he is
an adult
who actively engages with an online audience
who vastly overstates his own abilities
in an attempt to gain clients and take people’s money

That is LEGITIMATELY CRITICIZABLE. Pointing that out is not “bullying”, it is stating facts that are real and opinions that are grounded in reality. Very different from filleting a junior who is just trying to take a lesson and never asked to engage with an online audience.

Moving on to our next example, that Bernhard Maier ride was also LEGITIMATELY CRITICIZABLE. It was so awful and wretched you can hear the people who were there booing and whistling, and there is a reason it got worldwide attention. We do not need to sit around creating a safe space for abuse because we don’t want to say any legitimate criticisms out loud in the name of not bullying. There is also “having standards for how the horses are treated”.

Now, should the man have gotten death threats? Absolutely not. Allowing for legitimate criticisms is not a carte blanche to physically threaten people, damage their property, harrass them personally, or try to affect their life and activities outside of horses. “You shouldn’t be allowed on a horse if you’re going to treat it like that” is legitimate criticism. “I’m going to kill you,” is not.

Similarly, it was certainly possible to be LEGITIMATELY CRITICAL of Shelley Browning’s ride and wonder wtf her trainer was doing if she couldn’t teach her how to ride better than that over hundreds of thousands of dollars spent and a 7 year relationship. It is legitimate to be up in arms over how that horse was treated. This does not mean it would have been ok to issue her death threats or accost the trainer if you saw her in the local track store.

Let’s use our critical thinking skills and recognize that there is a difference between a junior minding her business in a clinic and Nick Peronace making ridiculous claims to drum up business and Bernhard Maier swimming horse through oxers repeatedly. There is a difference between legitimate criticism and bullying.

I’m certainly not going to issue anyone a death threat over a video I watched on line, but let’s also not create a safe space for people to treat their horses like shit either.
