It would be nice if those posting links clarified which were local to the UK vs. USA friendly, but alas and alack and all that slack.
I’m still catching up on the dressage highlights, but I was so impressed by Jonelle and Fairee Dynamo. The mare seemed to be floating along, and I completely agreed that at her best, it looked like she was doing a Grand Prix dressage test. Thought she was a bit under-marked, actually. Especially impressive given that I know she’s a bit of a hot mare. I noticed Jonelle was riding her without spurs.
Also really proud of all of the U.S. riders, especially those riding in the sudden downpour, and Chris Talley making his debut and earning the praise of the commentators for such a tactful ride.
Thank you for posting this link Equibrit! I was traveling for work and was able to watch the Thursday dressage in my hotel room and the Friday sessions today at the airport. The commentating is amazing and the recorded sessions are posted so quickly! It does give me the itch to go back and attend again! The XC course is even more impressive in person!
Yep, I get it…I see where the confusion came from… the ‘It’ I was referring to was BBC Red Button, NOT the Burghley stream! My fault, I should have been clearer.
I wanna do an Oprah moment and say ‘YOU get a live stream, YOU get a live stream…EVERYBODY gets a live stream!’
(Just stream it from the Burghley site!)
And the XC livestream is up!
There are a couple more clicks from the middle of the screen of that first link.
Is anyone else getting and “embedding is disabled” on the live stream page? It worked perfectly for me yesterday.
Eta: oops not enough coffee. I was on the wrong link today!
What link are you using to see live XC in the US? None of he links I’m using are working.
There’s less than 10 penalties separating 1st-29th. I think we’ll see some big shake ups!
Really loved the way the corner collapsed when Gemma came off, such a good feature. If you have to have a fall that is the way to do it.
Bad luck for Hazel But the back rail of the oxer came down quite easily too.
I loved Gemma’s talking to, reassuring the horse, while she was still on the ground, then calling to the stewards to keep the horse walking.
Ok David Britnel you are a tad bit scary
great ride from Andrea & Indy. Nice to hear some positive comments from the commentators about the USA!
Whoa, scary fall with Eliza. Glad she’s up and walking, but that was very lucky…
Glad David retired, was making me very nervous!
no kidding - glad he retired before they had a bad fall
Jesus. Saw Eliza and her horse fall. So glad they’re both up and walking, I won’t even say what my first thought was.
This course sure is beefy. I saw the pics from the course preview, but watching people ride it takes it to a whole nother level. These riders have cores of steel - something to aspire to!
